Can any one check out my save and try to board HQ orca

I have been trying since last night and I can not board the thing
However I do not see how to add the save. I have done a search and no luck on how to add a save so you all could look at and try to board that orca.
Any help appreciated

This is a gameplay question and not for Tech Sp. There are a few threads on this topic in the Universe (gameplay) forum where I shall move this. Here is one example of such threads.

Also it helps if you confirm which X game and version/patch you are playing.

Actually I am saying it maybe broke X3TC 3.2 > So yea maybe some body can take a look to make sure it isn't. After going onto google it appears if it is in light water you can not board it. However it does not state what version they found it to be broke.

So my thinking was it is a tech support but hey it is your board so move it as you deem necessary!!

I've never heard of that so it would have to be a new problem. What exactly is the problem? If you upload the save somewhere I would be happy to give ti a try.

Ok sit rep is Orca in Light water, Shoot it turns red. I drop the shields then order my m7 cobra to board. I have in the ships around me 57 marines, 20 in the cobra. The orca does have defenses and marines. After 8 tries I am unable to board it. I get to deck 4 and it fails and I lose all 57 marines trained to level 5.
When I get home I will upload a save and just let me know if you can. I have never lost more then 5 marines when boarding. To lose 57, do not think so.

many years ago, it was recommended to save before the Orca is generated.

Then you can scan it to check defenses.

If you are not happy , reload save and try again.

Not sure about unboardable in said sector though.

Your report is not "unboardable", bulletstop. If you can get marines onto the ship, then it is boardable.

The ship is just *difficult* to board. You must improve your technique.

Ok look I have removed all defense with an ion disruptor, no more defense, they get to level 4 and all marines die. So 57 level 5 marine's no defense and that is normal? if it is then it is stupid as hell sorry I just went thru that assine hub plot and you all say improve your technique. This is not my first boarding rodeo!! Not like I haven't played this game before. I guess I should say un-capturable would be a better term and I googled it and yes it was broke at one time. It stated you could not capture it if it was in light water. however since the date is old I figured it was not 3.2!!

If your marines can enter the ship then they can capture the ship.

Whether or not you have successfully boarded other ships is irrelevant. This ship is, obviously, more difficult. So you must improve your technique. Specifically, you must maintain more marines on the ship throughout the boarding op, so that they do not all get killed during the op. On some ships that can require more than 20 marines.

I rarely board, but when I do,with hard to board ships, I send a new group in every time t I hear some have reached the next deck

Your guys are not 5 stars. They are all 1 - 3 stars in fighting (the skill that matters). Train them up by boarding a few pirate capitals or w/e and try again. If I recall scripted boarding encounters are harder than normal, like in the Goner plot.

It is not like I ask for help and now I am . Sorry fighting they get as it goes but I do not want to spend the time getting their fighting up as they should be good enough out take out the marines on the orca.
So just to make sure 57 marines all trained and I should lose all of them, that is what you all are saying?

I did try to board it with the cobra and it fails like you said. I cheated in 20 all 5 star guys and it worked first try but lost 5 guys. Its the same with Xenon ships. You can send the entire universe of marines at it but unless they are 5 star fighters you will fail.

Ok thank you I also want to thank all those who looked at for your time.. Looks like I have to train them. I had a hard time thinking that 57 marines could not cap. Just 20 huh , ok I will give it a shot!! Seriously all I wanted to know. I have worn so many hats, time to be a pirate I guess
