[X3TC/AP] Abandoned Ship Mission size/class trigger (Race Rep or Trade Rank) query

I believe this works the same in both games, & I have forgotten exactly how it works, so the question is...

Is it Race Rep, Trade Rank, or Both, that determines the maximum "size" of ships you can be tasked with returning in Abandoned Ship (& Deliver Ship) missions?

In TC it's race rank.
I'm not an expert at director files, but apparently you can get:

Any non-hostile race rank: M5
Rank 3+: M4, TS, TP
Rank 4+: M5+
Rank 5+: M4+
Rank 6+: M3
Rank 7+: M8, M3+
Rank 8+: M6
Rank 9+: M7, M6M (?)
Max rank: M7M
