Alpha, beta and gamma are commands that you can parameter yourself (ie., target missiles, if no missile, then fighters,...). In left bottom corner, in settings or something, you can set it the way you like.

What he said... they are just named templates for your own commands. Either use those or modify existing set of priorities on default commands. Missile defense pretty much covers EVERYTHING... it has like 4 or 5 commands in different order.

You might not want every turret to shoot and drain your energy, to rather focus most of it on the front of your ship. Some turrets IMO are better left with specific roles.

i prefer the other way. every turret is able to do everything. on its own.
the only downside of mars-script is that u gonna get modified-tag
but, in my opinion modified means:
the player has understood that all x3-games are just the basic modules, nod made for vanilla-gaming but exspecially for mods, scripts and other fancy stuff! ;P
Wir sind ***Modified***. Ergeben Sie sich.
Wir werden ihre technologischen und kulturellen Aspekte den unseren hinzufügen.
Widerstand ist zwecklos.

please excuse my bad english. no native speaker, but german forum is dying ;P
