LIFE Configurable Options

Ship Class Key

- Huge: M1, M2, TL.

- Large: M6, M7, M8, TM.

- Small: M3, M4, M5, TS, TP.


Audio

- 'Disable or Enable Audio:'
  • Disables or Enables ALL LIFE specific audio.
- 'Disable or Enable Subtitles:'
  • Disables or Enables ALL LIFE specific subtitles.
- 'Mayday Audio Range in metres:'
  • Range that a ship's audible Mayday can be heard, (in metres).
- 'Death Scream Audio Range in metres:'
  • Range that a ship's audible Death Scream can be heard, (in metres).
- 'Smack Talk Audio Range in metres:'
  • Range that a ship's audible Smack Talk can be heard, (in metres).
- 'Leveled Audio Range in metres:'
  • Range that a ship's audible Leveled Speech can be heard, (in metres).
- 'NPC Actors Speech/Face/Race:'
  • Method used to choose the race, voice, face and sex of a LIFE Actor for NPC's, (Pilot or Crew).
    * Random: chooses a random race, voice, face and sex.
    * Maker: uses the maker race of the actor's ship to choose the race and random for the voice face and sex.
    * Actor Name: chooses race and sex using the actor's name and a random voice and face, (with correct sex). This is the most accurate option for NPC's.
- 'Player Owned Actors Speech/Face/Race:'
  • Method used to choose the race, voice, face and sex of a LIFE Actor for Player Owned ships, (Pilot or Crew).
    * Random: chooses a random race, voice, face and sex.
    * Maker: uses the maker race of the actor's ship to choose the race and random for the voice face and sex.
    * Actor Name: chooses race and sex using the actor's name and a random voice and face, (with correct sex).
- 'Disable or Enable Player Owned Audio:'
  • Disables or Enables LIFE Actor audio for Player Owned ships.
- 'Smack Talk Audio Timeout in seconds:'
  • Sets the period of time after a ships uses Smack Talk that it has to wait before it can use Smack Talk again, (this cuts down on speech spam).
Explosions

- 'Disable or Enable Explosion Shockwaves:'
  • Disables or Enables ALL effects of LIFE shock waves.
- 'Disable or Enable Ship Movement:'
  • Disables or Enables the movement of ships caused by an explosion's shock wave.
- 'Disable or Enable Screen Shake:'
  • Disables or Enables Player screen shake caused by an explosion's shock wave.
- 'Disable or Enable Klaxon:'
  • Disable or Enable the warning Klaxon, (audio alarm), for shields and hull being affected by an explosion's shock wave.
- 'Explosion Range for Huge Ships in metres:'
  • Range that a Huge ship's explosion shockwave will affect other ships and stations, (in metres).
- 'Explosion Range for Large Ships in metres:'
  • Range that a Large ship's explosion shockwave will affect other ships and stations, (in metres).
- 'Explosion Range for Small Ships in metres:'
  • Range that a Small ship's explosion shockwave will affect other ships and stations, (in metres).
- 'Explosion Damage Scale for Huge Ships:'
  • Scale factor that determines how much a Huge ship's explosion shockwave will damage other ships and stations.
- 'Explosion Damage Scale for Large Ships:'
  • Scale factor that determines how much a Large ship's explosion shockwave will damage other ships and stations.
- 'Explosion Damage Scale for Small Ships:'
  • Scale factor that determines how much a Small ship's explosion shockwave will damage other ships and stations.
- 'Explosion Damage Threshold factor:'
  • Threshold factor that determines when the explosion's shockwave starts affecting a ship's shields and hull.
- 'Explosion Sample Time in milliseconds:'
  • Sample time quantum, used to determine how often the Explosion scripts run per second; this is a non-deterministic value, dependent on CPU speed, density of X3 universe, etc, (in milliseconds).
- 'Explosion Range for Stations in metres:'
  • Range that a Station's explosion shockwave will affect other ships and stations, (in metres).
- 'Explosion Damage Scale for Stations:'
  • Scale factor that determines how much a Station's explosion shockwave will damage other ships and stations.
- 'Explosion Timeout for Stations in milliseconds:'
  • How long the effects of a Station's shockwave last, (in milliseconds).
- 'Explosion Timeout for Huge Ships in milliseconds:'
  • How long the effects of a Huge ship's shockwave last, (in milliseconds).
- 'Explosion Timeout for Large Ships in milliseconds:'
  • How long the effects of a Large ship's shockwave last, (in milliseconds).
- 'Explosion Timeout for Small Ships in milliseconds:'
  • How long the effects of a Small ship's shockwave last, (in milliseconds).
Leveling

- 'Disable or Enable Leveling:'
  • Disables or Enables ALL NPC ship and Player owned ship leveling.
- 'Kills required for Huge Ships to Level:'
  • The number of kills required for a Huge NPC ship or Huge Player owned ship to level.
- 'Kills required for Large Ships to Level:'
  • The number of kills required for a Large NPC ship or Large Player owned ship to level.
- 'Kills required for Small Ships to Level:'
  • The number of kills required for a Small NPC ship or Small Player owned ship to level.
- 'Disable or Enable Leveling Display:'
  • Disables or Enables the display of kills and levels for NPC and Player owned ships within their names.
- 'Hull Regen Timer in seconds:'
  • Regenerates an NPC or Player owned ship's hull each time it levels, over a finite period of time, (in seconds); 0 = disable hull regeneration.
- 'Disable or Enable Leveling of Player Ships:'
  • Disables or Enables ONLY Player owned ship leveling.
- 'Huge Ship Missiles Loaded as a percentage:'
  • Loads the most deadly missile available to a Huge NPC ship or Huge Player owned ship each time it levels, as a percentage of the available cargo space; 0 = disable missile loading.
- 'Large Ship Missiles Loaded as a percentage:'
  • Loads the most deadly missile available to a Large NPC ship or Large Player owned ship each time it levels, as a percentage of the available cargo space; 0 = disable missile loading.
- 'Small Ship Missiles Loaded as a percentage:'

- 'Total number of Huge Ship Tunings added:'
  • Total number of tunings added to a Huge NPC ship or a Huge Player owned ship, tunings are added one per level beginning at level 4.
- 'Total number of Large Ship Tunings added:'
  • Total number of tunings added to a Large NPC ship or a Large Player owned ship, tunings are added one per level beginning at level 4.
- 'Total number of Small Ship Tunings added:'
  • Total number of tunings added to a Small NPC ship or a Small Player owned ship, tunings are added one per level beginning at level 4.
- 'Disable or Enable counting Drone Kills:'
  • Disables or Enables the counting of Drone kills towards an NPC's leveling progress.
- 'Reset ALL ships levels/kills/names/tunings:'
  • Searches through the complete X3 universe for LIFE leveled NPC and Player owned ships and resets, their level, kills, tunings and name. *Note* This can take a few seconds or more on a slow CPU and/or heavily loaded X3 universe.
News

- 'Disable or Enable News:'
  • Disables or Enables the collection of LIFE News events and the display of LIFE News articles.
- 'Disable or Enable Global News:'
  • Disables or Enables the sector limits and notoriety filters on the displaying of LIFE News articles, this allows the player to see ALL LIFE News articles, no matter how far away the News events were generated or how low the Player's Notoriety is with the current owner race of the News.
- 'Disable or Enable G.O.D. News:'
  • Disables or Enables LIFE News generated by anything that is killed by a 'null' killer, ('null' killer is attributed to the Galactic Obliteration Device).
- 'News collection sample time in seconds:'
  • LIFE news events are collected over a period of time to produce a LIFE News article, (in seconds); the first event is the baseline event, all others within the collection are referenced to the baseline.
- 'Max Jumps for Unknown Sector News:'
  • The maximum number of Sector Jumps from the player's current position that Unknown Sector News will be displayed from, (assuming 'Disable or Enable Global News:' is set to 'Disabled').
- 'Min Kills for Skirmish News to be generated:'
  • The minimum kills required for a LIFE Skirmish News article to be displayed.
- 'Min Kills for Conflict News to be generated:'
  • The minimum kills required for a LIFE Conflict News article to be displayed.
- 'Min Kills for War News to be generated:'
  • The minimum kills required for a LIFE War News article to be displayed.
- 'Min Kills for a Bounty to be generated:'
  • The minimum kills required for a LIFE Bounty News article to be displayed.
- 'Max Duration for Special News in seconds:'
  • The maximum duration for a LIFE Special News article to exist, (in seconds).
- 'Max Duration for Skirmish News in seconds:'
  • The maximum duration for a LIFE Skirmish News article to exist, (in seconds).
- 'Max Duration for Conflict News in seconds:'
  • The maximum duration for a LIFE Conflict News article to exist, (in seconds).
- 'Max Duration for War News in seconds:'
  • The maximum duration for a LIFE War News article to exist, (in seconds).
- 'Max Duration for Trading News in seconds:'
  • The maximum duration for a LIFE Trading News article to exist, (in seconds).
- 'Max Duration for Station News in seconds:'

- 'Threshold notoriety for access to news:'
  • The minimum player notoriety required to access either the News Representative on board a station or to use the Sector wide News Hotkey.
- 'Threshold notoriety for friend news:'
  • The minimum player notoriety required to display LIFE News articles, (assuming 'Disable or Enable Global News:' is set to 'Disabled').
- 'Max Jumps for Special Sector News:'
  • The maximum number of Sector Jumps from the player's current position that Special Sector News will be displayed from, (assuming 'Disable or Enable Global News:' is set to 'Disabled').
- 'Max Jumps for Skirmish Sector News:'
  • The maximum number of Sector Jumps from the player's current position that Skirmish Sector News will be displayed from, (assuming 'Disable or Enable Global News:' is set to 'Disabled').
- 'Max Jumps for Conflict Sector News:'
  • The maximum number of Sector Jumps from the player's current position that Conflict Sector News will be displayed from, (assuming 'Disable or Enable Global News:' is set to 'Disabled').
- 'Disable or Enable Drone News Events:'
  • Disable or Enable the collection of Drone events in the generation of LIFE News Articles.
- 'Change in Station Hull as a percentage:'
  • A delta or change in percentage that causes a Station Hull update News Article to be generated.
- 'Change in Station Shield as a percentage:'
  • A delta or change in percentage that causes a Station Shield update News Article to be generated.
- 'Max Jumps for Trade News from Player:'
  • The maximum distance in sector jumps that will be scanned for core systems from the player's current position.
- 'Max Jumps for Trade Hub from Core Sector:'
  • The maximum distance in sector jumps that will be scanned for neighbouring systems around each core system to form a hub.
- 'Sample Time for Trade News in minutes:'
  • The minimum amount of time that a new scan for an individual hub can be restarted. Each hub keeps it's own copy of this sample time, so that if you change position you can receive new Trade News articles.
- 'Threshold notoriety for Trade News:'
  • The notoriety required to access a sector's trade statistics, if a sector does not meet this notoriety with reference to the News Representative then that sector is skipped, (a skipped core sector means a skipped hub, a skipped neighbour sector means a skipped spoke of a hub).
- 'Threshold for Resources as a percentage:'
  • The maximum percentage, (quota), of a deficit resource that will generate a Trade News event, the lower the quota the more profit you will receive if you fill that deficit.
- 'Threshold for Products as a percentage:'
  • The minimum percentage, (quota), of a surplus product that will generate a Trade News event, the higher the quota the cheaper the surplus product will be to buy.
Rewards

- 'Disable or Enable Rewards:'
  • Disable or Enable ALL LIFE Player Rewards, currently Bounty Rewards and Mayday mission rewards.
- 'Bounty Reward Multiplier:'
  • Multiplier for the Bounty Fee collected for killing the Bounty Fugitive.
- 'Victims Reward Multiplier:'
  • Multiplier for the Victims Fee collected for each Victim the Bounty Fugitive killed.
System

- 'Disable or Enable LIFE:'
  • Stop ALL signal scripts which effectively shuts LIFE completely down, this does NOT reset any of LIFE's current state/global variables.
- 'Disable or Enable Debug Logging:'
  • Disable or Enable LIFE's debug logging, uses log files 99990 through to 99999.
- 'Initialise Globals:'
  • Resets ALL of LIFE's global variables, this does NOT stop LIFE or reset any local variables contained within objects in the X3 universe.
- 'Initialise Hotkeys:'
  • Resets ALL of LIFE's Hotkeys.
- 'Disable or Enable LIFE Initialised Message:'
  • Disable or Enable the LIFE initialise message which is shown whenever a saved game is loaded or new game is started, a new game will ALWAYS show this message.
- 'Disable or Enable Mission Popup Messages:'
  • Disable or Enable LIFE's dynamic Mission popup messages, currently only the Bailed Pilot Dynamic Missions generate these messages.
