Getting into Asteroid Belt?

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick question. I started my game as an argon humble trader, been playing a while now and decided to do some further exploring.

My question is, how (or is it even possible), to gain access to Asteroid belt.
Every time i go in, i get told that i will be destroyed if i don't turn right around and get out of there quick! Is it a case of gaining a certain Rep with them? (the terran)? Or is it totally impossible?

Just play the game for a while. Trade and fight a little here and there. Visit Omicron Lyrae once in a while and you will get an opportunity that will grant you access to Asteroid Belt.

Hi Cpt, yes thank you for that, i might try visiting the place you mention. omicron summat. Cos i DIDN'T try upping my rep to Hero of Sol, honest. Not that hypothetically it would have worked anyway.

I play this game purely for the trading/exploration, so if the escort jobs in omicron thingy involve combat, then i'm out. So i seem to be stuck....
I have a Magnetar carrying 3 eclipses that protect me, (plus my STs and a UT.) There just doesn't seem any good trading/exploration games around. None that are as pleasing on the eye as this one anyway.
Ah well....

It involves combat but you don't have to participate. You will be assigned as part of the escort group, and if you ignore the hostiles the rest of the group will dispatch them just fine. Or you could let your bodyguards in the Eclipses have a go at them.

Thanks for that mate. Yes i did as you say, sort of escorted them from about 20k away, my eclipses did as you say.

If you avoid personal combat diligently your fight rank will always be zero and those Eclipses should be able to handle pretty much any combat mission that gets in your way for you...because with a fight rank of zero the combat mission spawns should be pretty harmless...mostly.
