Unfocused jump mission freezes

Vanilla Albion Prelude (Steam) running Windows 7 64.

Obviously a tech issue but I can't post in that forum.

I have started the unfocussed jump mission to search for broken gates but my first unfocused jump freezes on entering the sector. I've tried 3 times and even left the game with the sector announcement looping for 10 minutes but there's no sign of any progress.

I saw one historical post suggesting running AP in Windows XP compatibility mode but there was no further posting to confirm if this was a solution or not.

think you may have to register your game on egosoft site in order to post in tech support...
how to register a steam edition is in the stickies.

You will also need to send system info , as also described in the stickies.

Please register your game in your forum profile, then open a thread in Tech Support giving the required information listed in the sticky at the top of that forum. You won't get tech support in this forum.
