Manage two captures at once, possible?
So I decided to take on a rated Hard station defense mission. When the Split Tiger showed up, I was like, "I'm gonna capture that!"
While my Boreas whittled down its shields I ordered my Cobra over. But before it arrived, a second Tiger showed up. I couldn't think of a way to capture two at once, so I let the Boreas finish off the first Tiger and strip the shields on the second one before capturing it.
I wonder, has anyone ever succeeded at running two boarding operations at the same time?

Yes (vanilla X3AP) using a single M7M, and with few problems and little hull loss as it happens.
Two Pirate Carricks left with largely intact shields at about 20km+ range of my M7M after killing off all escorts to simplify targeting and reduce risk of after-boarding damage. The attack was 6 Hammers each, then 8 Flails each to arrive just before and with the Hammers, a few later Flails each to keep shields down until 2 pods of 5 top marines arrive at each. Keep the odd Flail going to each target while hull cutting is in progress.
The boardings were both successful before the targets became close enough to seriously attack the M7M and coincided sufficiently that the later target did not seriously attack the first after it changed owner.
Yes you have to be lucky (or do a few reloads) to get both to end with shields low enough to board at pretty much the same time, but it can easily happen with the above scenario.

It is certainly possible, and I have done it before in AP. (I have not done it in TC though)
In the part of the Shady Business Plot where I used a Kraken and Sirokos combo to board two Cerberus. One Cerb. is 12km away while the other is around 18km away. I first lowered the shields of the closer one the fired Pods from the Sirokos. Then I proceed to the next Cerb. Lowered its shields then fired Pods from my Kraken..
now to do it with just one M7 is possible with a little bit of difficulty. You need at least 16 elite marines (max in every skill). What you need to do is lower the shields of of both targets then go through Piracy Menu then select at least 8 marines to board your first target. Then fire some flails. Go through Piracy Menu again then fire all remaining marines at the second target.
Keep in mind that 8 elite marines can board any non xenon/valhalla(?) target without any losses as long as the target has no Sentry Lasers and Hull Polarizer.

I've tried, but never succeeded. The closest I came was snagging a Panther, then trying to take the escorting Heavy Dragon. Unfortunately, I was too close and too slow to manage it.
Doesn't help that my technique involves getting them to chase me, then shooting pods up their nose. So trying to line up two captures in a row only ever ends with the second one destroying the first. On the other hand, I'm informed that only works in TC, so take it with a grain of salt.

When I boarded the two Cerberus the first one got badly damaged from the weapons of the second Cerb.Triaxx2 wrote: So trying to line up two captures in a row only ever ends with the second one destroying the first. In theory, it should be ideal to lower the shields of both targets first before firing any pods so that both targets could be captured at the same time (or 2nd is boarded shortly after the 1st).
(I never tried this theory yet)
If you've got the talent and supporting ships for it, it should be possible to capture both ships at once. Knock down the shields and send in two groups from two separate Missile Frigates, but that'd require some fast reflexes and careful timing.

I pulled it off, my first double simultaneous capture!
It was an assassination mission, 3 carracks. The primary did not have enough to justify capture, but there were 4 good marines on one escort and 2 PALCs and 3 good marines on the other. I decided I was going to try for both.
Then I discovered the complications. The escort with 4 marines wouldn't stick around after the primary died, and both escorts had the same speed. Because of that, a sequential capture, slower ship first, then the other, was unfeasible. There was also the time pressure on killing the primary.
After numerous reloads, I got the first escort captured, followed seconds later by the second, then the primary blowing up a few more seconds after that.
Because the captures were so close together, I had virtually no chance to game for loot on the escort without the PALCs. Still, I got all 7 good marines and the 2 PALCs!
That was certainly intense, but I would prefer sequential captures in the future.
