How to change ship ID's and make it work/stick?

Post by DarrenTomlyn » Sun, 28. Sep 14, 23:41

I'm trying to get a Star Wars ship collection to work properly with my map - and each shipyard is intended to have a particular stock.

Unfortunately I've run into a really annoying problem - ship ID's.

A lot of the ships I have share ID's with some default in-game ships, and therefore cannot be added directly to the map file in this manner - (merely added to shipyards of each race in general via the package creator).

Unfortunately, I have yet to be able to change a ship ID, and have it recognised, whether merely the ID, or the ship data in addition (since that's what it adds to the TShips file, and I assume it needs to be consistent).

None of the changes appear in the TShips file at all, and so the only way to change anything is alter the entire TShips file manually every time I want to make some changes to the ship line-up - (since it's no longer a text file, I can't merely copy and paste everything, like I could in X3R).

Is there any way round this that isn't so annoying?
