hey so I am wondering... are there any mods out there for those who would like to change the soundtrack

Well, thats among the easiest things to change. I use a couple of game musics and soundtracks that fit the overall theme of X's music.

Unless you compose that stuff yourself, sharing such mods is likely to cause copyright problems.

oh i know its really easy to change. im just wondering if anyone had like put together a package of music to throw in

Changing soundtracks is pretty easy and there are different possibilities to do so:
1. All soundtrack files (for both X3TC and X3AP) are stored in the soundtrack folder in the X3: Terran Conflict game folder. You can simply replace exisiting files with the music tracks you like, they just have to be mp3 files with the respective names.
2. What music files are played is defined in the universe map. You can change these tracks either by editing the galaxy map and starting a new game or by using the Mission Director, as described here.
