(X3 AP) Pandora tunings and overturned hyperion?

After a while, decided to give another try in AP.
Just want to clarify several things ahead.

(1) Do I need to finish the poisoned paranoid plot to obtain hyperion vanguard? I mean do I have to fully complete a plot?

(2) If I got it overtuned from the plot, can I further tune it using Pandora boxes?

(1) No, you can board them with marines in Paranid space.

About question 1, what I really want to know is that, do I have to complete the main plot to obtain the quest reward HV? (somewhere I heard something like a mini plot, am not sure though.)
I just don't wanna finish the game (plot) before obtaining the hyp.

It's actually just one mission at the start of the Poisoned Paranid start. When you complete that, you'll get the Hyperion. You don't have to finish any other of the actual plot lines.
