will X:Rebirth work with a Asus A550LD laptop + X3 questions

Post by tornar » Thu, 27. Nov 14, 11:59

Hi,

Anyone could tell me if X:Rebirth will work in my laptop, the specs are:

CPU: i7-4500U 1,8 Ghz
RAM: 12 Gb DDR3
GRAPHICS: GeForce 820M 2 Gb

I have read a lot of people complaining about bad performance of X:Rebirth even in very good PC's.

Thanks!

Your laptop is way below the minimum requirements. I wont suggest buying the game, because of the low spec hardware.

Thank you for the fast answer.

Then perhaps I should try X3:TC or X3: AP, what would you recommend me? I like to have the feeling of a big open universe where I can fly with my ship, and get money with any misions, and upate my ship. Or what are the main differences in gameplay between X3:TC and X3:AP?

Really? That is a pretty sophisticated laptop.

I think the cpu only having 2 real cores and then needing to run on continuous turbo (2.7 GHz max with both cores at full turbo) is the issue for its use with Rebirth but the laptop should be fine for X3 games.

Try TC first. You need it to play AP anyway. AP is more or less a slightly improved TC. If you like the latter, AP may be an optional upgrade. If you don't like TC, I doubt you'll like AP.

A Geforce 820m is very low end. Not sophisticated.

yes, all nvidia cards ending in 10, 20 are basically office video cards, maybe they play videos at 1080p correctly but not much more.

I thought that GeForce 820M was better that 760M for example. Anyways, I would like to know if someone have tried this game in a laptop with same specs like mine.

Im going to buy today TC+AP, and after read a lot of opinions, I think Im going to start AP, because it has more combat zones, and I wouldnt like a bussines game, I prefer flight and combat.

the 800 series is a newer version then the 700 version.
but the 20, 40, 60, 80 or 90 variant is what tells you about the speed of the card.
the regular card would be the 40, with the 10 and 20 as low-end cards.
these are not created for playing games.
80 or 90 are the high end cards which makes games look beautiful with enough frames per sec.
so the 760 is older, but has much more power then the 820.
the 800 series has improvements over the 700 series.
some games use new renderingtechniques and lightning stuff which an older card doesn't possess.

Since the OP has started another thread on X3 gameplay, this rather off topic one can close now.
