[X3LU] Small Improvements and Fixes

Say's i don't have the X3 albion prelude installed or the no steam exe in that folder.

Tried to rename the exe but nothing happened, same when ran in administrator mode.

But my litcubes always crashes now anyway as this play through i tried to use mods and guess borked it lol.

(Only used LU compatible mods)

What version of X3 are you using? Remember that there was recently an update, and as far as I know, LU has not been updated to match this yet.

Can you screenshot the exact error message? I think it says a bit more than just "not installed". If I remember well (haven't looked at this in more than a year) the installer checks for x3ap_n.exe and some other file to be present and I think the error will mention exactly what file is missing.

Anyways, you can simply use the .zip version too. The installer has the advantage of giving you options of what changes from the pack to install in an easy to use UI.

Just in case: The no-steam exe check might be case sensitive, so try renaming your no-steam .exe file to X3AP_n and check if that can make things work.

Hmm strange, Windows filesystems aren't case sensitive so the check shouldn't be. Anyway, if the .zip version works for you I'll probably not look into it very soon (sorry), I don't even have X3 installed anymore

The zip works fine.

Sadly my X3:LU keeps crashing, dunno if there would be any conflicts as the only mods i use are this, satellite monitoring, internal distribution and bounty boards.

I think it may be the official sound mod or something....

Anyway going to reformat computer and try again down the line. A bit gutted since i managed to cap a xenon C within an hour of my new game start so that was 90 mill right off the bat hehe.

Satellite monitoring makes starting so much easier haha.

Do an Export of your current empire and import it in the new reformatted/etc game. You should have all the assets at least. Start with vanilla LU, no other modifications (not even mine) and when you are sure the game is 100% stable add one mod at a time, make sure it's 100% stable repeat.

Good idea i will make sure to do that, Game the far too time consuming to run into glitches when its too late to change them

I miss my old empire but i had used up pretty much all the asteroids.

This one was a bit of a doozy to download. I had to use some wget trickery to download it. Would you consider adding a mirror on another site?

Not sure I understand, downloading from nexusmods works very well with any browser I tried (Firefox, Chrome, etc). I think you don't even need an account if the download is small.

He is talking about downloading Litcube's Universe, the original website for it is dead, i've been trying to install this but I literally can't find a way to download LU.

Please have a look at the date of a post, before replying to it. The 6 years old conversation you were replying to was certainly not about LU not being available, but rather about a problem with the download link in this thread.

If you have a problem with downloading LU, you should ask about it in its dedicated thread. On the last page of that thread you'll find mirror download links provided by alexalsp.
