[TC] Player Station Damaged in Pirate Raid.

Post by Ormac » Tue, 20. Jan 15, 14:13

During my game I've had a light pirate raid [Nova and some Elites] actully causde damage to part of my factory complex in Circle of Labour.

Are there methods to repair my station such as Factory Repair Service (pay a fee) or will it over a number of game days self heal (Civilian Repair Service)?

There are occasionally station repair services offered as missions.

Can I assume think missions? Are they more likely within a secor radius from the station in question like the pirate station hack missions?

Looks like it can be any friendly station within 5 jumps of the damaged station. And yes, it's a think mission.

I've never seen that kind of mission in my year+ of playing TC. What I've done (and this is not to everyone's taste) is to clone some repair lasers and used them to repair my damaged stations.

Should have mentioned that I have 8 repair lasers on my Hypie. It makes laser repairs relatively painless.

There are station repair missions? That's amazing. I've never seen them.

You always have the option of SETA-repairing the station, which would be super boring.

If you don't mind going modified, there's a fantastic Marine Repairs mod by Bullwinkle. It's in the S&M forum:

It's what I use for keeping my fleet repaired. It's super convenient.

They do occur, but they're rare. I usually see them when I don't need them.

It's just cool to learn something new about a game I've been playing for 3+ years.

It's technically possible to use the space suit repair laser on a station. Given the massive shielding most stations feature, I suspect the damage was done by Mass Drivers? Those aren't the most powerful weapons, so you shouldn't spend too long out there if you have to do it by hand.

I didn't know about station repair missions so when mine got damaged I went modified with the "marine repairs" script. It's nice to know there's a vanilla way to do it rather than zap it with your laser for hours.
