Prying Mahi Ma out of a station
I like the Enhanced Dolphin, and nit wit Mahi Ma has parked it at a station. If I comm him at the station he bails out an airlock apparently, and I can't claim the ship since it is docked.
Any suggestions?

As long as he's docked in external clamps, you should be able to float up to the ship and then access it through the station menu and claim it as long as your suit is close enough. I believe that's how it works at least. I've never done it myself.

I will have to try that, just to see if it works! I will report back!

Just getting ready to test Triaxx' idea, and a couple others it brought to mind in case it doesn't work.

Score one for Triaxx2!!!Triaxx2 wrote:As long as he's docked in external clamps, you should be able to float up to the ship and then access it through the station menu and claim it as long as your suit is close enough. I believe that's how it works at least. I've never done it myself.
It astounds me that after all these years I can find something that I have never done before. This is verified accurate, an abandoned ship can be claimed activating the station it is docked at, and using 'landed ships'.
Of course other than this unique situation I can't think of any other time an abandoned ship would be docked at a station.
Anyone?

Very, very rarely in vanilla, a ship can bail and then something external somehow interrupts the handling code (say a critical-point save/reload or a glitch). It may then keep its prime script running and so carry on regardless with 'no pilot' to a prior destination and perhaps dock at a station.
Naturally you don't usually get to notice this event except by a huge coincidence (or via a specific search script).
I imagine the system override software might work if your ship were close enough to the station with the pilotless ship docked.
