Or make a "Stolen Saturn" version that doesn't require x3_galaxy changes (as suggested by Jack08) That way it will be more compatible with all sorts of things.

I just started with LU 1.6.1, vukica's LU remap 0.61 and Diverse Game Starts LU Remap Edition (V.1.0.6) as a "Ruthless Buccaneer" in Gaian Star.
There is a Pirate Mining Outpost, a Pirate Stock Exchange and a Pirate Shipyard in the sector. All of them were red when I started, and I couldn't dock at any of these stations. Then after a few seconds the special pirate setup script (setup.diverse.gamestarts.xml) seemed to run, because the stock exchange and the mining outpost were now allowed targets for docking. After I reset my ship's friend/foe settings, these two stations turned correctly from red to white. But the Pirate shipyard remained red and didn't allow me to dock at it. Leaving and re-entering the sector didn't change anything.

Another minor oversight: The "Yaki Ronin" start says I start with an M3 on the title screen, but I start with an M4.

The "Simple Lar" start lets you begin in an Octopus Sentinel with two 5 MJ shields in its cargo bay. However, the ship can only use three 1 MJ shields. So are these two 5 MJ shields intended for sale, or is this a minor oversight?

The correct universe coordinates for Gaian Star in LU remap are "18,13" while the setup script looked at "19,13". Now it works as intended.
The other two minor text errors are also fixed.

I tried to install this mod. Upon installing it, however, the game starts did not appear. It was at that point that I realized I didn't have the custom LU game starts either (which I wasn't aware existed until now). It turns out, renaming gamestarts.pck to gamestarts.pck.bak in the addon/types folder solved the problem and the LU game starts and diverse game starts now appear.
I used the proper install instructions, completely uninstalled X3, reinstalled, installed LU. I'm using the GOG version of X3 and don't even have steam installed to play around with files etc.
Just thought I'd post this in case someone runs into this in the future. Perhaps the OP can add it to the main post.

This is a confirmed issue with the GOG version of X3:AP. Egosoft said they wanted to patch this with an update to the GOG version (german source) which removes the file. Since I don't own the GOG version, I don't know if they have already patched this.

i tried Diverse Game Starts with the Vanilla Version of LU and gave the Yaki Ronin Start a try. I have no idea how to play with this, how is this scenario supposed to work? You have to fly through paranid sectors where you get attacked and killed instantly. The ship is too slow to escape the paranid military/ orbital weapons platform and with 1000 credits it is not possible to tune the ship enough to fly through these sectors.
Maybe this scenario is only for the remap mod?

I need to double-check, but I think you should be starting in one of the Yaki-controlled sectors. Apart from that, the Paranid are supposed to be shoot-on-sight. There are some "challenging" starts that do dump you in the middle of hostile territory, but I don't think Yaki Ronin was one of them.theape wrote:Hi,

You always stat in Senator's Badlands (Yaki territory) but the only way out of the Yaki Sectors is through Paranid Sectors.
I restarted the games several times until i got a game with decent combat missions in Senator's Badlands and Weaver's Tempest ("Station is under attack") to slowly build up enough money for the needed engine tuning
I dont know why but in the other games i started i only got "build station missions" every few minutes (real time with sinza) or none missions at all.
Defend combat missions work really well once your combat rank increases. In most of the missions you just have to kill paranids. I avoid assassination missions because i always had to kill pirates and i dont want to ruin my reputation with them

Is there an update for this mod for LU 1.7.2?
I'd love a Boron or Terran start, but when I tried the Boron M5 start all stations and jump gates were randomly aligned.
When checking out the default starts all stations are normally aligned.
Or does anyone have a clue on how to fix this with the last version of this mod which was intended for LU 1.6.2?

I wanted to add this in case someone else is having issues downloading the file. Something appears to have changed so that the download button for the original post no longer links to the mediafire host for this file. You can find the original link using your browsers Inspect Element functionality, the link is still there it's just not displayed -- or at least the link wasn't displayed for me.
