Q about X2 & X3 Reunion storylines

Post by siddham » Sat, 27. Jun 15, 14:10

A question for those who have played through both storylines

Personally I found the X2 story to be disapointing
It was not engaging or satisfying

So I wonder, is the Reunion plot and story better?

(ps I am in the early stages of Reunion and pondering wether to leave it and go directly to TC; or persist through the story. The X games take a lot of time, which I do like about them, but one has only a finite amount of time for games in general and especially for any particular game. Pesonally I enjoy the economic aspects most and some combat from time to time)

All opinions and views welcome

Thanks

If you are enjoying Reunion and not feeling like something is missing, stay with it. I say that because once you try TC or AP, you won't be interested in playing Reunion again.

Economically Reunion and Terran Conflict are similar (near Identical.) The Reunion Plot can largely be ignored to a point and it won't interfere with your Empire Building.

If how ever you want some degree of satisfaction from the provided Plot for your sandboxed empire maybe moving on to TC is the logical step.

Yes, LU is great. It's what rebirth should have been on the new engine.

From what I read and see on vids it seems to be the most advanced version of the X Universe thus far...?

I am very tempted to jump straight into it!

There is a time constraint in LU (you have to get some larger scale production and fleet before you are pushed off of the map by the AI), might be better to have a peaceful intro round with vanilla an it's plots, and then play LU once familiar with the base game.
It also improves a lot on the basic features of AP, and adds tons of functionality/challenges.

I played it a some time ago, not sure if there is any change regarding how the Xenon invasion and your competitor corporation starts up in latest version.

Good advice pref
Thanks

I started fiddling around in TC today
Going through the menus and setting graphics and controls etc
I like it better already to Reunion and seems to run pretty well on my old XP rig
