Free ship issue.

Ive just spent some time travelling to the unknown sector in the bottom right hand corner of the map to get the free nova there. as i get right near the south gate in the unknown sector just above it, my ship just explodes with absolutely no warning or explanation. Can anyone help please?

Ahhh. Cheers for that. I ended up using a quick fix of discovering the gate then using the jumpdrive to jump to it and just turned around haha
