AI error or what?

AP all update, no mods.
In serveral games I sometimes watched Paranid raiding Argon sector and being - step by step - destroyed by defending Argon forces.

So as in Aladna Hill. The Argon are just a bit sleepy here but sooner or later they go against the raiding Paranid fleet until this mess is elimiated or anyway gone.

So, I - with highest rep at Argon and bad rep with Paranid - got msg that a Deimos attack my station at Aladna Hill. I reload and arrived before the Deimos and watched was going on.

This Paranid M7 really had an eye on me or my assets.
By the way, question: Does this happen just by chance when my station(=enemy for Paranid) comes in radar sight - or DOES IT HAPPEN A STRIKE FORCE GOT ORDER TO TRAVEL OVER SECTORS JUST TO ATTACK MY ASSETS
OK, I first deleted the escort M8 and the M4-3, but with my M3 no good chance on the Deimos.

Normally, I had success to get the Paranid shoot at me but hit the Argon Boreas or other Argon Capital ship, hiding my M3 behind the Argon.
In such cases, it wont took long and the Argon started the counter attack.

Not in this case! No matter what Argon object the Deimos hit, the Argon ignore the Paranid! And the Deimos is still after me.

What's going on here? A special program feature?
Why the Argons do not defend their assets (as they did some time before in the same game....)

The attack force will not travel over sectors specifically to take out your stations. This will only happen if you have a station/complex producing illegal wares, and only by the race who owns the sector.

what does happen, is races will launch attacks against their enemy races, once they arrive at the target sector, they will attempt to take out any enemies (stations and ships). If you are an enemy of the attack race, then your assets will end up being targets as well

As for the defending, only certain ships will attempt to defend against attackers, depending on what job they are running.
Sectors dont usually have thier own defense forces, and most of them will be patrolling around several sectors

OK. Thanks for that info.
What was different this time - the Paranid did not attack the Argons, but just me (or my station).
So, it looks like a task force got order to attack me as a enemy (do they really such task?) in the sector where I have aasset=station (have just only one = this) but this task force did not attack the Argons and so the Argons 'set to be peaceful to Paranid' even when hit

In an other game I had such situation in a opposite version: The Paranid attack Aladna Hill/Argons but not my station (because I had a good rep with Paranid too).
I could stay close watching Argons and Paranid killing each other.
