Issues with setting up my Complex
Hey there everyone,
I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong section I only started on Albion Prelude a day or so ago, and I'm having issues with setting up my complex. Specifically getting the tubes to show up between the complex kits. I heard that every station has a certain amount of nodes, and I've been using X Model 3D viewer to find them and align my stations correctly but the tubes still aren't showing up. Is there something important that I'm missing? I'm also playing on Litcubes Universe but I checked the Faq and it didn't mention getting rid of the complex tubes.
My current starting complex has a Teladi Dream Farm M, Bliss Place L and M, and two Complex Kits.
Heres a sshot if it helps..

CyrusEpion:
There are a few things you can do to see if your construction kits have deployed.
Firstly look at the sector map and you should see you now have a complex, listed and the remaining stations will be ones you have not yet connected.
(If you are running Model viewer, it is likely you have to be in game to deploy the CCK's.)
Thirdly if the TL is still in system it is likely he has not dropped your stations (CCK's) and is waiting for orders to do so. Get close to him and scan his freight. If he has them aboard you don't have a complex.

Any chance they are connected, and you have tubeless complex mod? If yes, those tubes will never show for performance reasons, but the complex works just fine.
Iirc it's available for LU.
Check the stations within the plex, meybe they are all added - the screen seems to show that the individual stations are not targettable, which suggests they are already in the plex.

Thanks for the replies,
I checked in-game and I can tell they are connected. I even dropped off a freighter full of ecells at the hub and both stations started creating their respective product. If this is due to LU, do you know of any way to disable it? I checked LU's site and wiki and could not find anything on the tubes being disabled

I don't think you can the LU mod is designed to get you using the Saturn Hub's fairly quickly. To be honest you are better of waiting till you can do that rather than trying to play LU as you might AP.CyrusEpion wrote:Thanks for the replies,

Post in LU thread under the scripting forum. Maybe its included in LU by default, and is possible to turn back on tubes for future complexes you build.
Afaik changing already placed plexes to get the tubes back or remove them is not that easy.
Once you have 50-100 stations in a plex, the tubes will affect fps quite a bit when in sector - even on good hardware.
Btw in LU you are much better off using Saturn Hubs. Iirc some management options dont even work for vanilla hubs, but that might have been patched since.

So there is something rather odd that came to my mind, you seem to use very minimum graphigs settings, is it at all possiable that there is a option to disable tubes showing? Back when I started playing Reunion I remember that long tubes really killed the performance on my back than pretty weak PC. (Yes, I know that this is very unlikely, just asking out of curiosity.)
There's a mod for tubeless stations in the S&M forum. But there's an alternative that I use for all my complexes. In AP, you can stack stations one atop another and avoid collision damage by connecting them together with CCK's into a complex that only takes up the space of the largest station. That also eliminates practically all of the tubing. And as a side effect, it looks cool, too.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

Thanks again for all the replies
Yea I guess it is a LU issue. I originally wanted the tubes because they looked neat but after hearing so much talk about them lagging the sector, forget it
clakclak,
I actually have my X3 graphic settings set to as high as they can go. Minus the antialiasing because I play in Windowed mode. I noticed that LU backrounds aren't that great looking.. About to try IE to spruce things up
