Pirate Truelight Seeker

How do I capture the Pirate Trulight Seeker in Terran Conflight. I'm flying a Tiger and I've got a Scabbard with 10 Marines ready to to board the Pirate ship

If you board and capture it, it will fly off to the Goners with your marines inside and you lose your marines.

If you wait a bit, it will eventually stop near the Trading Station in Grand Exchange and you can exit your ship and claim it like any other bailed ship.

Tankyou for your reply, but how do I capture it in the first place. I've used the Tiger to weaken its shields and told the Scabbard marines to board the ship but all they do is fly around until the Truelight retaliates and destroys my Tiger. I've even flown the Scabbard, but when I tell the marines to board the ship the Sabbard flies of to infinity. Is it possible to add the piracy instruction on to the Tiger.

Did you look at the spoiler?

I am almost certain you are not meant to board it with marines as even all level 5 guys will die, it is like boarding a Xenon ship where you need to send in multiple waves.

As Nanook said, you just follow it at a distance and it will stop moving. Just fly up to it, get out of your ship and claim it like you would a fighter that has bailed.

The good news is the TLS can't be destroyed until it is turned over to you. The bad news is the TLS can't be destroyed until it's turned over to you. The best news is as Nanook mentioned.

But, if you feel some overwhelming need to board the TLS, use Ion Disrupters first to try to fry it's weapons and any other defenses it has. Be wary of nearby friendly or neutral ships, they could be collateral damage. Then you can board it over and over watching your marines die and allowing your frustration level build to the point of a ragequit is possible. In general, plot ships can't be captured by the player unless the capture is part of the plot.

A better use of your marines for training purposes is to board lonely M7Ms. Once they fire their missiles, they are defenseless. Or send a hired TL to a pirate sector and board it there.

Not true when I played that mission. It can be destroyed after you captured it and it is enroute to Elysium of Light, and it has no shields at that point.
The first time, I didn't get the ship. I suspected it was destroyed along the way. The second time, I sent some escorts with it to keep an eye on it. That time, I got the ship.

The TLS

If I have marines that need a training opportunity, I'll do both things. Claiming it is the important thing in any case. It's not hard. You wait until it's not moving, bring down the shields, and claim it. If you are boarding it you time it so the marines are at least on the hull when you claim it.

If you successfully board it, it takes off to Elysium. It gets gifted to you later but you still lose your marines. Your marines are now Argon marines on the Centaur Proto in Elysium.

If you both claim it and board it, it still takes off to Elysium but the ship is yours when the boarding procedure ends. Some have worried that this will break the plot. It doesn't.

I've never found a useful role for the TLS. It just sits where I park it for the rest of the game.

It's about as useful as a 200+ mph Lamborghini Centenario. It's a toy. For example, load the TLS up with Gauss Cannons, lots of ammo and a turbobooster. Then take it hunting big game. It's a great sniper. You can have all sorts of fun with it if you use your imagination. :D

It's tech transport running crystals from my production complex to the SPPs attached to my complexes.

I always load it with IDs and take it with me to UFJD sectors. It's my Super Spacefly Swatter Extraordinaire. There is also that whole GC business but meh... everyone does that so that's boring. Btw did I mention you will look like a boss no matter what you do in it? Pretty important point imo.

Hahahah - nice! Yes, style is important :D

For me, it usually ends up being a valuable goods CLS transport, usually running weapons and/or ammo from my factories to my shipyard, or something along those lines. (Hisazul, I like your use, though: as spacefly hunting craft. If only I could actually be bothered to do that - then again, late enough in a game, some people look for hobbies :D )

Do some UFJD generation tweaking so it's not as barren(I managed and I can't code in this xml business at all) and UJFD visits can become fun and lucrative.

Or try summoning Xenonslayer and asking him to improve it... who knows. Might work...

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am 100% vanilla, all the time - I don't like making my games easier. For me, it's fine as it is :) But since I'm playing AP at the moment (along with some Rebirth), I won't be getting to play around with the TLS anyway, not for the time being...
