Scanning for Containers?

Helloo

Old Player returning here -

I remember there was a system which was really good for container scanning and could earn you a half decent wage in early game.

I can't seem to find it - I'm playing the free play game ( no storyline, just starting with the skunk and 100k ) Searching around suggests either steady mole or big empty, but neither of those zone are turning up anything on a Police scanner.

Anyone willing to post a spoiler on where to go hunting for containers?

Maelstrom - Sigma Sector - Sturdy Crusader

It's a danger zone, but your shield won't get damaged and will recharge when you're not moving. I still recommand at least mk. 2-3 shields to make things easier.

It's a freaking motherload for containers. They spawn non-stop. Once they are empty, shoot them down so they stop pinging on the LRS.
Humans are deuterostomes, which means that when they develop in the womb the first opening they develop is the anus.
This means that at one point you were nothing but an asshole.

Some people never develop beyond this stage.

I'll work my way around to that sector.

What threw me was the lockboxes. They are new to me, I've been away that long. I was used to the sea of pings. Now they're quite rare and opening a lockbox while simple once you know how was quite tricky at first

Trust me to get an explosive one on the first try!.

Now I have collected many shiny things even in Albion and my bank balance is getting healthier.

For the early game, it's the Ascendancy sector in Albion. It looks dirty brown and has extra dust and asteroids.

But you can find containers everywhere, really. I think the game makes them appear if you drift in space at the outer edges of any zone, for more than 5 minutes, with the Skunk in scan mode.

Ascendancy may have the richer containers though. The ones booby-trapped and with 4 locks.

Seriously, though. That was an awesome idea. Fast-spinning booby-trapped container killed me a a few times, and made me turn away quite often. :D

If in a lockbox-rich area you search along a boundary between a named zone and an empty space zone, and keep swapping searches between the two, the lockboxes can seem to respawn in already scanned areas almost as fast as you can find and open them.

Rather a game exploit really.

For Boom boxes it makes it the perfect excuse for me to use the Assassin Drone.
Worst can happen? You lose your drone, they're only 24K a drone, no great loss.
