Superman 2
Lord of the Rings (Sequel to The Hobbit)
I was going to suggest "The Empire Strike Back" on account of it being way better than "A New Hope", but I'm not sure if it's really a sequel as opposed to being part two of a three film story.
Need a rule clarification here. Does a sequel have to be a self contained story in it's own right, or are we allowed to nominate episodes in a series?

Back to the Future 3 versus 1 might be debatable.
This was actually what I was thinking of when I started the thread, and then forget to include it.
I love the 3rd one! I love the first 1 too.
But there is just something about the 3rd one and the 'modern' western feel, and I enjoyed the fact that it was mostly a recreation of the first film. Also, Doc Brown as a cowboy...
Tom Wilson was always a threatening bully in the first BTTF. In BTTF, although he was a pantomime over the top bad guy, I really liked him.
"I've got a bad feeling about this!" Harrison Ford, 5 times a year, trying to land his plane.
