Hey,
I created this script to make Trading Stations more profitable (I thought they were visited by far too few traders)
... but you can use it with any kind of station.

Overview:
This script will spawn ships that buy the wares on your station. (imitating the npc traders)
They will on average buy products worth 20000cr per minute.
The amount of ships is kept as low as possible, down to 1 ship per hour.
If you offer a greater variety of products, the ships will spend more money at your station. (+10k/min per additional product)

Technical Details / Features:
- Energy cells are not being sold (you probably want to use them yourself to refuel your ships)
- You can run the command as often as you want, it will still be coordinated (if you think 20k per minute is not enough)
- The traders always buy for average price, no matter what the station is set to
- You also gain trade ranks for stuff sold by this script (AP only)
- The traders are coordinated (they won't find your stocks empty)
- The ships are random and very natural (they have to travel up to 3 sectors)
- Natural, flavoured, localized ship names (e.g. Argon Gourmet Direct)
- No performance impact at all (the ships always spawn in a different sector than you are)
- The script keeps the amount of ships spawned as low as possible. (~1 per hour / 1 per 12 minutes for cheap stuff like ore.. )
- All languages supported

Limitations:
- You need to be allied with Argons, Borons, Paranids, Split, Teladi or Terrans.
- Compatibility: a few ship types are hardcoded. So maybe the script doesn't work with mods that replace the vanilla ships

I doubt many people have downloaded this. Why you may ask? I read your post and can't understand what it really does. My best guess is it looks like a cheat dressed up a bit with spawned ships. Could you please explain it better? Hope that doesn't sound harsh, I guess it is, but I'm just trying to help.

I updated the Description.
The only thing that you could see like a cheat is that the traders always buy for average price.
In earlier versions it was limited to trading stations and only 1 running script per sector, but I didn't want to force players to play in a certain way.

To me it's more like a bugfix:
For example I had this factory complex selling Energy Bolt Chainguns + ammunition, but no npc trader ever visited it.

In my last game I had 200-300 factories for 1 MJ shields, simply because it was the only thing getting sold smoothly.
Now I can produce whatever I want.
