To register, enter the registration code from your game into your forum Profile. No personal details are required, and it gives you access to a personalised downloads page which ensures you get the correct patch versions. There are occasionally also downloads that are only available to registered users.
Regarding this last, CBJ, I can't find any downloads for registered users. But it seems that the earlier add-ons are already integrated into patch 1.3. Is this correct?

Believe me I wanted the US version since this was released so much sooner than the Euro version, but I understood we were not 'allowed' to buy it?
Anyway I have the Euro version. I installed it and then the 1.3 patch and then started the game. So I guess the 'goodies' are already installed?

Wow, another great point about X2. This is the first game I've ever registered, and it was the easiest one to register ever, I only had to enter the code. On most other games you have to go to a different website and fill out a thousand things that don't matter...

Yep - best way to get rid of the mines is missiles. Takes about 5-to-10 missiles to clear the whole field. (If you get closer than 5KM or so, you will die in the resulting blast)Capt Bong wrote:You must use missiles such as wasp or skitter to destroy the mines) PS stay 5 km away from mines when launching missiles
Use your PageUp/PageDown keys to target the mines when you're within 8KM. Go through ALL of the mines (there are a lot) and figure out the closest mine - target it and fire missiles until it blows up. It will take about 20 other mines with it. Then use the PageUp/PageDown keys again to find the next closest mine. Repeat until they are all gone, then you can fly right up to the gate, and jump out into your space suit. You'll be nice and close to the gate so if a pirate shows up you can get back to your ship fast.
Believe it or not, I did it with out firing a single missle. I went in with a Nova with 3x25 shields. Moved in real slow and set off a mine. My shields held and I eased up to within 100m of the Nacelle. I ejected and moved in and scanned and returned to the ship. I did the same thing on the other side, got the scan and got out. Only took a matter of minutes.
Squash Mines
There's an easier, far cheaper and more exciting way to clear the field of Squash mines. Here's what I did in my Argon Discoverer:
Bought a few crates of Argnu Beef or Sunrise Flowers and carefully approached the gate perimeter edge-on(about 1.8km from the nearest nacelle), turned around and dropped one crate out the back, then turned back around and rammed it with boosters hot, pulled up hard and watched the whole minefield blow up out the back window as the crate glided into the detonation proximity ^_^
you'll have to do this for *both* nacelles.
Beats wasting missiles or remote-controlled ships(i've tried both...)

Odd...I fired one missile at one of the mines near the gate and it blew another one up. It didn't look like a massive mine field you guys are describing. There only seemed to be like 2 mines in my game. Also, there were no mines in the purple nebula you fly through, except the gate. Odd.
