Post by eskeemer » Sat, 10. Apr 04, 18:34

I think theres another way to get rid of the mines other than wasp missiles
using drones or droids is this true if so where can I get them and how do I use them, incidentally I tried to get wasp missiles in the ore belt ta a number of stations the ones that had got them wouldn`t release them
any Ideas ?

There are many ways to complete this mission.

As well as missiles, you can use fighter drones and order them to fly to the mine (You can usually pick these up in Paranid space, or on captured ships), you could also capture any ship, and then remote-pilot it into the mines. Or you could wait until you have a TL and just run them over. Or you could shoot someone until they are hostile, then lure them through the mines.

There is no "one way" to anything in this game :D

Hire a TL and tell it to move to that postion, expensive compared to Drones or missiles , but more satisfying. 8)

You can use TL's for all sorts of fun things , just think about it, be creative and why stick to one TL get a group of them to go wait outside a Xenon gate that has a lot of through traffic. Pick up any spare missliles to help pay for the expense of getting them there and watch the fun.

You don't need to fire expensive wasps when cheap mosquito missiles can do the job just as well. At around 200 per missile It's the cheapest method there is.

Hmmmm. Unless you really badly botched the capture, chances are the ship you capped is worth more than the cost of the Wasp missiles you need to finish the job in the traditional way...

Somebody other than me has suggested it, for the first time ever! Yey! I had an idea that caught on!

But it's fun! Besides, Mandalays aren't good for much else.
