Are goner ships capturable?

Post by x239 » Mon, 3. May 04, 20:59

I have tried many times to get one but they never want to bail.

If i keep chasing with ION D's will they eventually give up?

Yep - Goner ships are just like any other capturable ship.

Yep you can definately capture them using standard techniques. In fact I've found the Goner bail a little faster than most others. (not surprising considering how they are armed.)

They are the only ships which will surrender (on rare occasions) when hailed to surrender.

This worked for me:

"Surrender!"
"NO!"
"Surrender!"
"NO!"
"Surrender!"
"NO!"

BLAM BLAM BLAM

"Surrender!"
"Ok."

Unfortunately I didn't notice the ship flying through a Xenon sector on it's way to the shipyard. Note to self: pay more attention.

EDIT: Layout. I'm paying more attention.

Whilst they do drop cargo, I've never seen an NPC ship just 'surrender on request'. But then again, I don't do much combat...

I'm having too much fun taking the pirate ships from the pirates and using them at my factories to go after the merchants! :P

Than again, lately the pirates have been ganging up on me with 5 to 10 orinorcals (or however it's spelled!)...

I think I need a better ship. :o

pick them off when they come in to dock or launch from the base.

that way you dont kick the hornet's nest, and you get a steady stream

I always stay far from bases and other ships don't want to engage due to I use 2 Ion Disrupters on my Baowmon to knock down shields. Works like a charm! And than use the other two guns as Gama Impulse Rays for the hull picking. Ususally get an Orinorcal at about 85% hull left when he gives me the ship! Around $300k for that pull! :fg:

Yeah I get a nice group of Oreos attacking me too from time to time, but now they have the funny tendency to pounce on a dolphin at the far end of the sector from me instead and just send one in after me. I can hear the radio conversation now...

"Ok there he is... whose going in after him..."

"I'm not going in.... YOU go in..."

"I'm not going in... lets get Mikey, he'll attack anything."

"Yeah! Hey Mikey!"

yeah, but if you stay close you can nab them as they fly by

plus you can have a number on the go at any one time increasing capping chances!
