Spacefly collecting...

I must be really dumb, but how the heck do you get the collector to work?

Trying to get to go remotely so I can get on with other things and let them harvest themselves, but just can't seem to switch the sucker on.

You need to install an Ion Disruptor to stun them and only then can you pick them up. you do this is the same way as with cargo containers.

iirc, spacefly collecting can only be done manually with Ion-D and the collector.

doesn't anyone else find that incredibly stupid?
the only race that use them are Split, the only thing you can use to catch them(besides the space fly collector) is an IonD, the race that created the IonD(and it's a very recent creation I might add) is the Boron, and the only race that hates the Boron are the Split. so how did the Split catch those spaceflies before the very new IonD (that they think is a horribly stupid weapon)

you have to use the ion disruptors on their OOS defence ships, they then drop a spacefly collector which you can use by pressing shift+j and targetting the sector you are in...

or you can just collect them by stunning them and opening your freight doors

so what your trying to tell me to do is shoot a friendly ship until it drops something that I can buy and then to activate my jumpdrive and jump to the system I'm already in? all of wich does nothing to catch them anyways.
