I've lots my video player when other races call me up..... Do I have to back issue my media player or something
I have Win XP Pro, with SP1 and any other upgrades it downloads during its quiet moments... I dont remember when it changed, I last played a few months ago and dont recall if it was a problem then.

XP vid
I have the same problem too. I just started playing X-Gold and thought that it was normal. What kind of graphics card you use? I have an Nvidia GeForce4 4400.
Come to think of it, it may be related to that speech problem everyone has with XP. I changed all the .dat files to .mp3 to see which ones needed to be converted to .wav (00244.dat is also speech, for the intro. Noone mentioned converting that one to .wav.). I found that 000001.dat appeared to be some type of video format, since media player tried to run it in a little window. Maybe that file is what the game uses to show the comm vid, and XP also needs that converted to play it properly. Maybe I'll experiment alittle with it.

Re: XP vid
People have reported this problem with the GeForce4 Ti4400 (I have one, but have never played X on it--gave the game away to a friend to try and get him interested). It has something to do with the driver version you have installed, but I know no more about it than that--and I doubt that fiddling with the video file will help in any way.Anonymous wrote:I have the same problem too. I have an Nvidia Ti 4600/128MB with the Creative drivers, I could go for the Nvidia drivers and see what happens.Anonymous wrote:I have the same problem too. I just started playing X-Gold and thought that it was normal. What kind of graphics card you use? I have an Nvidia GeForce4 4400.

Re: Cripes!
I've just remembered--somebody once said they managed to fix this by changing the texture formats in the X-Tension graphics setup screen (they said setting the numbers to all 8s on both fixed it). See what that does for you.-Silencer wrote:Hey, Firebird. Which drivers are those? I'm using the 40.72, but I don't get video screens! Help...
