Gamma PPC's VS Gamma HETP's

Which do ppl find better, the web site says that hept's are more powerful and have faster rate of fire, so wots the point of ppc's, do they take less energy or something? Wots every body elses opinion on this weapon?

PPCs have a much longer range than GHEPTs do. This is important when you're flying a ship 2km long--a GHEPT bolt from one of the rear side turret guns would barely reach the front of the ship!

HEPTs have something like half the range of PPCs so PPCs make and excellent stand off weapon. Though I do think HEPTs have their place in capital ships, just try going toe to toe with 5 split dragons.
