With new TP Prices...

Say I have 400k and am just starting out. Now it doesn't really make as much sense to buy a Manta anymore does it? I mean it starts at like 376k.

Looking at it.. does the Paranid Demeter make sense as a purchase instead?

Cheap, 2 weapons, 3 shields, a bit slower than a TP but can carry XL cargo and well it is priced so I could buy 3 instead. :)

I use mercs. just becaue, but the demeter makes sense to.

Why not? They can't carry XL cargo anymore, but 1000 units is decent. Plus it's fast. And you can take on any of the TP/tour missions.

Mantas still make sense, just not for your personal goals perhaps....

I'm actually using my Manta "Red Midget" right now as my personal transport between my Hercules "Red Dwarf" and other stations/ships. For combat, though, I have a Nova.

Because of the price. If you notice, he said Mantas cost 376k credits now. You could get a Paranid Demeter with only ONE less cargo capacity (they start at 999 now) for just over 100k, and the Demeter will carry XL cargo at a reasonable speed (175 m/s).

376 K for a Manta. U have 400 K , u need some extras in the Manta too, like engine tuninh. there go another 20K maybe and u nedd money for trading then.

with 400 K i dont go for a Manta, take a TS as said above. ok Paranids dont like u at the Moment, so a Boron , argon or Teladi TS must do for now.

Check stats in shipyard by highlighting sellable TS´ and press "i" for info screen, what it can and what not
