introducing OFF TOPIC FORUM shortly - looking for moderator

After some long and intense discussion we decided to set up an Off Topic forum.

As you all know we try to keep the level of spam low and so there's a rub in it. A users postcount will NOT increase when posting in the Off Topic forum.
We will move all OT threads to this forum which means for many users their displayed postcount will decrease as posts in the OT forum are not counted. (this includes any replies to OT threads)
(there will also be a poll regarding the rating system shortly)

An additional forum means additional work moderating, therefore we are looking for another moderator for this OT forum.
If you feel qualified please send your application to Steel via PRIVATE MESSAGE - we are not accepting other forms of application.
(please not just "I want" but give reasons)

EDIT: the application period ends on Wednesday, April 16th, 18:00 GMT

couple a questions though:

can we vote for members to get the position ?

EG: place 2 names each forward and a picture will form of who the majority would be happy with.

if its not an anonymous vote that is,so to avoid "mob" voting.

You can ask that member to apply for the job. We can only take someone who applies.

The current moderators will decide who will be "the one" as they know best what this forum requires and they also know most of the users quite well.

Humm, well, that's my post count down to about a hundred again.

But will we still be able to give and recive ratings from the OT forum? Or is that not going to happen there? (Was this already mention and I was just to blind to see it?)

But seriously, it really does sound like a good idea.. Even though we would be losing the ratings...I gtuess it would cut the spam down.
I wouldn't mind modeerating the new forum...but...lets be serious...when my knee heels up in a couple months...we'd have to find another moderator...I think Avis would make a good moderator...and Grim as well.. They both seem to have level heads on thier shoulders.

Why would the rules be any different? The only difference will probably be that everything's OT.

Well the rules on here are not exactly strictly enforced and hence I'm presuming that any OT board will be a free for all with the exception of abuse and anything illegal. Is that accurate?

Cheeky get! If you really WANT us to crack down on every minor infringement of the rules, we'll do it--I doubt you'd be very happy if we did, though.

Cheeky maybe but its true. I'm not knocking the way this board is run but if there is an OT board then presumably all off topic stuff will be deleted/moved from here. I was thinking of applying but if its just going to be a kiddies sandbox then I'll just stay here and post

I'm with Al (kind of). I'd happily moderate on the Game forum but I've not got the time or the patience to deal with the OT forum.

On a different note, where does all the X-inspired creative work sit? Stories and artwork are well received on the forum but would probably get missed if they were declared OT.

Will only the messages that are marked OT get moved to the new board and what measures will be taken to stop the spammers from still posting OT threads without marking them OT to keep thier post counts up.
