[img]Tornado - MKII - Raider Fighter

Post by JonHandby » Thu, 17. Apr 03, 00:52

Although i think this is going to get very confussing, i am going to post my images from now on in here.

The UTC-F-005-2 Radier Fighter
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

Short Range Raider Fighter
8 x Ion Pulse Engines
2 x EM Cannons
2 x Pulse Cannons

2 x Triton Missle Banks (40 in total aspect seeking missiles)

1 x 25KD Shield Generator

The 9th Ion Engine is modular, and can be replaced with a low level jump drive (a hyperdrive with enough power to make several 2AU range hyperspace jumps - sustained jumps require a larger power source)

Crew: 1

The Tornado is a second Generation fighter, equiped with state of the art weaponary. Capable of 4 days life support for its crew and with new jumpdrive technology, this ship is the favoured craft by raiders and military personell alike.
Its engine structure allows for compensation if some of its engines fail.
Although it has a crew complement of 1, the ships modualar cockpit can be re-moddeled to have a 3 man cockpit, which is used for long range raiding missions and for turning this fighter into a medium bomber.

Comments as usual are welcome, tommorrow i may do an action shot.

Jon - although this is not X related artwork, I do believe that it still has a place on the X2 forum to be honest, in a similar vein that the literature also belongs there. It's not very OT after all.

Well to be hoinest this is something ive already brought upwith BurnIt! - the reply was:
BurnIt!: do they relate to Egosoft or the X games?
So i think the OT Board is where they have to go. :s - unless stated otherwise by the admins then it looks like everything on this linage will have to be on OT.
Ships are so boarderline its a bit hard to decide.

One reason why i thought an OT forum isnt nessasary at this time.

But this isnt a discussion about OT Boards.

Thats a damn nifty peice of work there. Hats off to you. It looks like it could be very customizable, swapping out engine pods for missile pods or other equipment pods, a military workhorse craft.

Have a blue fella.

:-(

sweet model anyway Jon,

EXACTLY summarise my reservations about this whole OT forum and On-T forum,,

what is ON and what is OFF,,
your ship as I just noticed is ON topic,
My Son of Trogtron is OT as well as countless others :-(

difference,, I fail to see,, but who am I to judge..

The UTC-Fr-005-1 Cheyenne Freighter

[ external image ]
[ external image ]

The Tornado Fighter remodeled with a longer mid section. Its engine pylons inverted. And with a non-modular jumpdrive. Allowing for the ship to create similar jump paths as its Tornado Counterpart.

The object of this freighter is to create short range freight journeys between ship and shore. Although not planet capable. The Cheyenne is still a menuverable and fast ship.

Its a one man craft. And is favoured with rader fleets to gather supplies. You will probably see this ship deep within the teyths system. Where trade routes are always being used.

This ship is armed with four scatter guns. Which maximise damage across enemy hulls.

The Cheyenne is designed to work with the Tornado Counterpart.

what is the main software you guys use to create these images? Do you use animation software like maya, 3dsmax, softimage etc or do you use still image stuff like photoshop. I would like to get into animation and want to play around with still imagery first, any suggestions on free or cheap software to play with?
