I don't think 1.4 had Mk3 Trader included. You have to register your game and get the wee CD with a green tick (see under my 'Location'). It'll personalise your downloads page and allow you to download official scripts and post on the tech support forum.

Oh, and welcome to the board.
Y'all know what the chain o' command is? It's the chain I'ma go git an' beat you with 'til you realise I'm in charge here!!!

You will need to register and to quote TD005013:

Ok- to resgister your game you will need the Reg. Key that came with the game- which for most is printed on the inside cover of the manual.

Take that code, and type it in your profile, near the bottom where it asks you to. Your profile can be found here (http://www.egosoft.com/x2/forum/profile ... ditprofile)

Once you press submit, your game will now be registered under that account. You get a little green ticky disk for it which will apear under your avatar, like so.

With that all said and done, you will be able to access your own personal downloads page. Go to the main site here and then to downloads. It will have all of the patches you need, AL update, and signed scripts. (which you can only get here) (http://www.egosoft.com/x2/forum/viewtop ... k&start=15)

Hope this helps

:) :)

What is it with all the old posts being dug up lately?

I mean its good you use the search function and all but digging up old threads only confuses people and annoys.
Its a lonely life being me...

Agreed. I've split this from the old thread because there was too much out-of-date info in there that could have caused confusion.

Your attempt to keep things tidy is appreciated though, orcthered. ;)

Somehow or other you've not installed the updated Trade Software Mk3 correctly. When it asks about overwriting files, you need to say "yes".

yeah, I answered "yes to all"

should i have to re-apply the patch?

And besides, where may i check the level of my trader?

If the software had been installed correctly then you'd see it after the pilot's name in brackets. Make sure you really are running 1.4 and try reinstalling the Trade Command Software Mk3. Other than the text file it uses, it looks like it is probably running OK.

yeah cbj i agrre it must be just a wrong reat text,
as for the rest it looks like they go trading around normally.
I am sure i am running 1.4 cause it appears on the corner of
the main screen everytime i start X2.
I'll re-install the patch (which is an exe file, i wouldn't have dnloaded the wrong file).

good work indeed. Hope one day i'll work for a sw foundry like egosoft
(and not this crappy virtual reality factory i am currently involved with)
