Beta KE Forge Resources?

Post by TylerChuit » Mon, 8. Nov 04, 17:52

I'm trying to build a "Beta Kyon Emitter Forge" hidden out in pirate space, and am trying to come up with a good resource mix.

I would love to use Nividium, because it's a limited resource, more difficult to come by, and just seems apropriate. However, when I add it into the mix, it bumps up production by a factor of 32! Especially not good when the station can only hold 2 finished products at a time.

I've tried adjusting prices of the Nividium, and the emitter, but there has been no change.

My question: Is there a way to adjust the needed resource quantities?
If not, how can I adjust the scripting to get the production back to 1?

I wrote a tutorial dealing with some of the elements of station creation.
It's indexed from the main tutorials sticky at the top of the forum.
See if that helps.
Cheers.

Ah, I must have overlooked that one. You do reference the problem I'm experiencing. I just need to see if I can use what you've written to help me bash out my problem, mathmatically. :headbang:

Thanks!

the problem has to do with the pricing stucture vs production vs profit per unit.

Energy cells and other normal goods from factoies you can work out the production time. Profit usualy work out to be 1.3333 the cost of the resources to make

Unfortuantly nividium is not a normaly produced substance and thus will thow off the calculations considerably. only way to remidy this is to find the production variables of Nividium. Make a Nividium production Mine and see what variables it takes to create nividium.

If then balances the variables of production time of each resrouce untill they even out with each other. Then calcs the time/selling price and number of units to mach the cost of resources and the constant profit margin of any factoy which is 1.3333 (and it dont always get it right but its usualy close)

Its alot of guess work. especialy when it boiles down to non standard factory goods like nividium!

It takes alot of guess work

Good advice, holo_doctor, thanks!

I especially love the emphasis on it taking a lot of guess work, immediately followed by the quote in your signature. :)

Seriously, thanks. That gives me a good starting place to work from.
