Gunnery crew
is this correct ?
Titan = 90 crew
Crew = 1500 per hour [with Aegis = 3000 per hour]
90 x 1500 = 135,000 cr per hour [with Aegis = 270,000 per hour]
Titan = 90 crew
Crew = 1500 per hour [with Aegis = 3000 per hour]
90 x 1500 = 135,000 cr per hour [with Aegis = 270,000 per hour]
Which brings the price way down.
And using crews doesn't affect anything OOS.

buy a boron manta for every trade station and equipment dock in argon space and fit them with max speed and cargo life support and trade extensions.Oximoron wrote:where can i hire crew for my Titan?
i just bought my Aegis (dang, i WAS going to buy a Carrier (Colossos or something), but now i have to save for another night of SETA )
but the Aegis commands for the turrets can not be selected, so im guessing i need a crew. where do i get it??
then spend 7 hours constantly clicking universe maps and checking ships in sectors for transports,and time it exactly for when they dock and buy yourself 1 to 4 crew at a time.

or as said script them in,as they are about as effective as a toilet paper coat in the rain anyway.
you DO know you don't need AEGIS installed to use crews, yes?VincentTH wrote:Wrong forum, but who is counting the credits if he can afford the Aegis in the first place.
I feel like a broken record sometimes but it is worth repeating that fact.

Buy an Argon equipment dock, stick it in Argon space and set so that it won't sell to other races. Next, transfer a gunnery crew member across to the equipment dock so that it sees him as a stockable item (you can put him back on your ship immediatley afterwards).
After a while, Argon military transports will begin to deposit gunnery crew at your equipment dock .
This started out for me as an experiment that I didn't expect to work, but a routine check of my stations revealed 55 military personel just waiting for assignment at my equipment dock, and there have been smaller amounts since (I guess it might work with trade stations also, but I haven't got one)

Military transports have always been Argon Express in my experience, and thier identity code always starts off "MT" or similar.
If you have satellites/ships/stations in Argon sectors, In the sector map check under the "ships" tab for Argon Express with an "MT" I.D. code.
If the ship you're flying has a freight scanner, you might be able to check it's hold for "Military Personnel".

Wow, would that work with Trading Docks too? Any way, I am going to find out as I got 2 trading docks in Argon spaces. And I thought the number of MPs would go down when they are listed for sale?Grey Lensman wrote:Buy an Argon equipment dock, stick it in Argon space and set so that it won't sell to other races. If you can't afford a space equipment dock yet you can use a trick I found out on another forum instead...
Once you've figured where the transport is headed, go land at the station and wait till the transport is about to land, at this point save the game (you may want to save a bit before as well in case you get this wrong).
When the transport lands if it just drops a few people off (1 - 10) then reload and try again. After quite a few attempts (seems tedious the first time) I got the transport to drop 95 people at once!!! So well worth a few reloads.
Anyway i'm off to drop a military man off at my equip dock now and reap the rewards of the above trick.
PS you don't seem to need cargo lifesupport for them either... my oddy is running around carving up the xenon and khack and the crew are just fine (it's all included in the running costs I think).
