There are no confirmed reports to prove that someone has. Apparently there is a line of code or something which deals with a lotto win but odds are very remote even if it is possible.

Some people suggest buying the tickets increases the spawning of new missions in the station and sector i don't know but later in a game I will by them anyway.

actually someone worked out that even though its 14mil to 1 to win rl lottery its like 14 trillion to 1 to win the X2 lottery

It's *especially* rare, since every single BBS message offering lottery tickets is for a "different lottery" (EDIT: So I hear, anyway.)

If you buy, say, 20 tickets - you don't have 20 chances to win the lottery; you have one chance at 20 different lotteries.

Personally, I betcha it's not winnable at all (you can't have that many credits anyway), and it's only there for "atmosphere", like the news stories. ..... Which really annoys me, because the lottery messages are taking up valueable BBS space that could be used for actual missions! :)

But, only the developers really know for sure. I bet they're getting a good laugh out of all the lottery threads. :)
