The lottery commontion
Okay so it's been worked out that you have about one chance in 6 trillion or whatever of winning the X2 lottery. (sos can't remember yeah name)
However why do you think X2 has a built in script editor.

It was Kitch and its 16Trillion to 1 i think.
But i think i know where your going with this

let me remind you of my previous post in the other recent thread......
Giving due consideration to the most obvious point , which has already been stated , namely , that the shear size of the win would not fit into an individual`s account , it is plainly obvious that the lottery is NOT winnable.
Also , it would not be logical , or indeed fit within the intercomplexity of the game design for Egosoft to include a negative aspect , as most of the features in the game appear to aid , rather than to hinder the player.
May I also remind you of ancient Greek methology. The Delphic oracle would only give the correct answer to the wrong question. Therefore , one must employ subtlety. Let me explain what I mean by that.
Many years ago , there was a game with many similarities to X2 , called Frontier , or Elite 2. It too had a bulletin board. There was no lottery , but players were invited to contribute to various charities. Every time they did various hidden aspects in the game would change. It was written into the coding of the game to reward the more generous players.
Therefore , given that the lottery is NOT winnable , and that it must have a purpose , it would seem logical that some kind of hidden stats etc within the game change whenever a player purchases a ticket , even if those changes are not immediately obvious.
It might also be worth considering , that if this is indeed true , those stats might not neccesarilly change in the player`s favour

And incredulous boredom . . .

Well, that sounds just like a real lottery.jack morphew wrote:You can't win it. Or if you can, it's near impossible.
But that doesn't stop you trying...
If there is no code for winning, would there be message text for winning? (see previous threads) (well... maybe)
Never assume something is impossible just because it has not happened. New things happen every day. (But it does not mean it will happen to you.)
There may be a 10 billion credit payoff that won't fit in your account, but that does not mean it never happens. There is a 99.9% tax!

Lottery article-gives you the chance to pay 2500 and to gain nothing.
Has ANYONE won the lottery?No
So the chances are much to low for any of the thousands of people playing this game to win or you simply can't win,and the game lies.
I realy think you'll never win,and the thing that bothers me most is the fact that you aren't anounced the wining numbers.

True, but the real lottery we know for a fact isn't a fix (Someone wins usually) and has a much higher chance of winning than the X2 one.Carl Sumner wrote:Well, that sounds just like a real lottery.jack morphew wrote:You can't win it. Or if you can, it's near impossible.

Also, like I said, how do we know it's not there just to fool new players into wasting their credits early on in the game. (To prolong the experience )

Come on now! It would still be like 470 million credits! Plenty enough to buy some hambergers, with mustard even.Java Jawa wrote:Argh! Imagine if that happened, you could get like . . . 47bn and then, just, lose it all! Damn you Split Taxmen! I'll kill you all!

Yay! I think I'd sell them to a Split Inspector from the SBI. Not to mention the chunks of Mi Ton I've ground up and planted in there for him . . .
