Is the Lottery for real?

Post by krackcode » Sat, 28. May 05, 23:21

Man I've bought gobs of tickets and then never hear anything ever again. Is there some type of trick to winning or is it just some money sink scam?

Short answer: The odds of winning (assuming you can actually win) are so remote that the entire X community would have to buy 100 tickets a day each for a few squizillion years for there to be a reasonable chance of winning. IN any case, your account maxxes-out at 2billion credits, so you could never actually collect the entire prize!

However, what you DO get is a bonus on your race reputation, making the lotteries a way of buying happies with the races, rather than having to kill their pirate problems or spend time trading.

I not trying to be rude but have you tried the search function, it saves a lot of repeated threads. Not that we want you to keep necromancing old threads, if you need to ask then please feel free to start a new thread, but the answer to this question has been covered extensively in old threads.

After you have been here for a good fews months you will just think "Oh no, not again" after seeing this question for the 50th time, especially with the turn over this forum gets.

Well I've only been here a few days, and I see the search function now. Thanks.

Check out the FAQ, CBJ (moderator, and a mighty fine moderator at that) has just added a 'Jargon Buster' that will let you check out some of the more commonly used jargon for the X community. It also has answers to extensive questions, ship statistics, the works; everything you need to know.

The instructions can be downloaded as a PDF, although its really not worth the time spent downloading it.

yea funnily enough that was done by a community member as well, with add ins from pretty much everyone

the whole community runs everything :D

actually i think that jargon buster topic is still quite new...

http://www.egosoft.com/x2/forum/viewtopic.php?t=84215 :D

btw the FAQ that esd links to in one of the replys has more in it than the first one posted, mainly cause the original poster stopped upgrading it after a while, whereas CBJ kept upgrading it.
