Too long in the making, here is my latest Rammstein / X-BTF tribute video.

To set the scene, the Empire finds it in it’s best interest to end a long standing Non Aggression treaty with the Split which had remained in place since brokered by Moss of the PoP. The Emperor decreed this must end …. The video tells the story of the negotiations that took place.
(just thought I’d try and somehow tie the meaning of the lyrics to a story )

The models were really cool and the music was nice

although some of the explosions were bad- it was like a bunch of scraps were flying apart, not a ship devastated to oblivion...with some chunks remaining

also, when one of your mechs crushed that split, I didn't see any blood, they sort of just fell flat

SWEET JESUS! That was amazin'! Does the lyrics mean anything? Sorry for my ignorance but is it German rock? I have definetly heard of Rammstein but what is the just of the lyrics? By the way that was absolutly fantastic from start to finish. I wish walking mechs were in X2 that would be totally cool, imagine you could dominate the planet that way. GREAT WORK!

Words can't really describe a masterpiece like that.

You have bettered your previous effort by some distance. Not only is the video very well put together, but there's some serious thought and imagination in the way the scenes fit into the storyline. This now justifies an Avis folder in the My Video directory!!!

Yup the effect I used to blow up the meshs is very limiting,, as is 3Ds MAX to be honest, admitedly I could have made a lot of things better but unfortunately my PC bearly qualifies as a decent home computer let alone a render farm, I sooooo badly want a farm

just so I can do some propa animating within my own lifetime

Blood yes

I was going to add some, but thought the splits powered armour wasnt actually breaking so much as it was being pushed into the ground, so doesnt spill any blood, also I was being very carefull, because to my knowledge German law is very strict when it comes to blood and things, and this way (no blood) I get to say,, its a'U' certificate

rather than a 15

@X-Type the lyrics are very teniously to do with my,, erm story.

not much to write home about.

@Eagle, yup rendered every second and about 10 minutes of footage that didnt fit, wasnt good enough or simply was overcut (ie a clip was too long so had to shorten it etc).
been working steadily on it for a couple of weeks I think. some of the models a lot longer.

@everyone else,

chears folks, if you enjoyed it that is reward enough for the long hours falling asleep waiting for another scene to render I had to endure for this

how about you use the stuff you didn't include, shape it up a bit and use it as some blupers...

or make a short video of bluepers- maybe that girl who's walking in the spaceship trips and falls and that mech that stomps the split pics up its foot and starts shaking it as if it stepped in crap

I like it how you managed to animate the lips to the words! Never seen a Split ... errr, I mean Mr Go Splat,

say 'Nein' in such a good fashion!

I guess you have reached the point where you want to move on to Maya and Shake3
