Just always when a game starts to make fun, its before saying: Its over.
In all games, developers always only work on foundations, foundations, and when gimmicks like a good idea for mass traffic come into the near,
or the drone system (or anykind similar) of x rebirth, it gets dropped out of a game, due to administration problems, and ANY piece of fog is a no already.
While one has always understanding, its just plain bad to see this just EVERYWHERE.

2 stations should trade, if they are nearer than like 30 km, can be adapted with manager, if manager is good, he can go to 50km, then stop.
its mass traffic, not even "small" freighter real ships.

Additional:
If a station (ANy npc or player) has NO SHIPS assigned (when freshly built, running idle, or all got destroyed for some reason), mass traffic way would provide some 'minimalistic' logistics way, even over 100 km as long as it is IN sector, maybe even limited to (main) trade station, when enough surpluses of wares are available, so they are capable to trade some plain energy cells or food stock when THAT is missing. other buys should not block important buys from elsewhere, maybe even without order, dock, buy, but dock first, then buy transaction, as it is mass traffic.
this would add LOTS of atmosphere, fun to make a station use this, to humiliate a manager to act crime acts on him (e.g. get the interaction possibility to extort wares if you find and destroy the traders a certain station uses...)
and lots of more fun would be possible! Just easyly beneath the dead line, there is a whole new game hidden - waiting for folks to implement what is already there.
darn those administrators eeverywhere...

also;
if one would have THIS system in X3 TC, we would not have the modul connections, and less problems with graphic stuttering because of rendering 100 connection tunnels in far away when you see just some pixels.

If you had some EXEMPLARINY done examples INTO the game, it would be much less frustrating to see the other many ideas not done.

Everybody just waits for this.
maybe not just asking Egosoft for this. THis is generally a plain bad habbit in the commercial game production.
