Live 5.10 build - Either I found a major bug or I am really doing something wrong...

Post by Malakie » Thu, 12. May 22, 22:13

HI,

As the subject says, either I found a heck of a bug or I am doing something way wrong. I have enclosed a number of screenshots.

Been playing for hours and have quite a few miners. But I started wondering why my credits amount was not increasing hardly at all. Then I looked at the transaction logs for all my miners (see screenshots). Every single independent miner, i.e. those I set to automine, show a ZERO (0) profit no matter how many loads they sell. For some reason the game is selling the load, then the next line subtracts that EXACT amount of credits from the positive payment amount they just got so profits always show ZERO.

I am using the basic command, advanced automine as they are high enough level.

So what is this? A bug or something I am missing entirely?

The credits shown are specific to that miner not the player. Which means the profit is what the miner makes from selling materials, the negative amount is what the miner pays you after making the sale.

Type in 'Trade Sale' (no quotes) into the search line at the top of the list. That'll show you how much your miner has really made.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

Looks working as intended to me. The miners do not maintain an account so all the profit they make has to go somewhere. That somewhere is your personal account.

Of course if you are using third party mods then this might not be the case.

Well, that should be changed to reflect what the payout is for then, at the very least. Based on simple math and economics, that display leads one to believe exactly what I said. So if that is indeed the case as you all described, then it should reflect that. In fact it should also break down any payout for the crew costs and then show the profit as paid to the main account, station account or whatever you tell or set it to pay out as and where.

It shows the miner's account and all transactions to and from it. From that perspective it is working as intended. But IMHO, this account view is just barely useful for the player. I am more interested if my trader operates profitable or not.

Unfortunately there many examples in X4 where the feedback to the player of their assets is missing the point. That's a lot of wasted dev time...
