Then I want to do this exactly. It may only be a number adjustment. Simply buff the den and casino as of now, there is zero incentative to build any of them aside if you like the looks.

I just wrote a post back in April 2022 here about the reasons. The TL;DR:

* Den cost x2, Casino x3 as much as an Argon L Habitat, but the added growth boost is less then that of 3 Argon L Habitats
* Additionally you have to do reasearch plus mission for them
=> Just build Argon L Habitats (or other faction equivalent buildings) then Den/Casino

So simple suggestion that doesn't require code changes:
Please either add a raw bonus, greatly increase the additive bonus or in my opinion the best opinion, change the bonus from additive to multiplicative, e.g. whatever workforce is added to the station is multiplied by either 1.1, 1.2, etc.

This is probably a weird request, but would love to see the Dormitory Habitat (from ToA) provide Vigour or Riptide Raker character models when built, adding to the flavour of the game. Currently, the Dormitory Habitat creates just more Argon character models, same as the classic Argon habitat.

Sounds reasonable, and surprising it isn't already done.

Indeed - as a workaround I always order my crews from Vigour equipment docks since ToA. :pirat:

Half of the request is request for, at best, version 10.0 not 6.0. Whatever 6.0 is. it is in a polishing phase mostly at the time of the beta release.

Do you really seriously expect to make 6.0 request minutes before it is released?

Change the title to 7.0 request and maybe we can steer the devs in a direction to look at a few of these requests.

Remember when it was always a hodgepodge? I always used to send my ships to TER docks just to get uniform crew.

These threads appear every time there is "imminent" release afoot; never titled for "the future after next release".

Apart from mislabel in the title (that is understandable and minor issue), there is the "collection issue". Everything and anything in a wall of text from impossible, via hardly feasible, through against design principles to sensible. Our discussions should take each idea separately and throw them into crusible until only the best gems remain. Then present those one by one to developers.

Naturally, it is totally unknown to us whether there will be version 6.0 + N. Likewise, can you guess when Egosoft makes decision about that and when they consider what to put in it? The latter would be the moment to have your "obvious" idea fresh in their memory.

    A gamestart that has no player. We can only observe how the simulation progresses without affecting it. Therefore, no fog of war (but hide Vaults, etc). For convenience, the start asks for the seed for Galaxy generation. One probably needs SETA-option, although that can affect event resolution.
    CBJ has mentioned multiple times that Egosoft does run simulations to test whether economy holds or bursts to orbit of Jupiter. Do they have a separate driver for that? Could they base the start on that?

That'll be interesting since we already have this Streamer Mode thing.

A command to effectively link complexes by ships like CLS1 from X3 era.
Linking complexes by station based traders is a performance killer.
More control where station based mines will mine, like restricting range.

X3 AP like turret custom commands.

Design uniforms for your crew.
More choices at custom game start for player character design e.g. separate clothing design from face.
A wardrobe at the phq to change player char.

The x3 TM as M sized supply ship.

More Argon Prime subsectors, AP being only one sector is quite an immersion breaker.

Increase capacity of Teladi habitats as they are much larger than other habitats and more difficult to fit into a station.

Internal rooms for habitats, with a nice view.

buff erkling shield, it's weaker than terran 2.

option to recraft used paintjobs, or readd them if the ship is lost repainted.

1) Please let me call my friendly Faction representative and buy blueprints without going there in person every time. Happy to have this locked away behind the +10 or +20 reputation barrier, but it would make life soo much easier in games where not everyone is your friend :roll:

2) Do NPC stations use blacklists? Maybe a setting to have their freighters avoid Enemy territory might be smart. Is the first thing I do in any game, create a blacklist for civilian ships, to avoid enemy sectors. I call it "common sense".

Can't you already do it by staying docked somewhere with custom start placed satellite coverage?
Performance might get somewhat choppy with full sat coverage though.
That would have the added benefit of you being able to start doing something whenever you want.

I'd rather see an option where you are one of the faction representatives. Maybe you could order and task the Intervention fleets with rough destinations, but wouldn't be allowed to leave. That point of view would have you agonizing over the ai choices more than normal, because you wouldn't be allowed to do it yourself. But you could really concentrate on agonizing over it through the livestream feature, instead of behind the pilot's seat always able to take over.

And where do you get your info, that it's minutes before release? You must have missed the post in the announcement thread, that this patch is going to take much longer to release than previous main patches. So even if Egosoft managed to make the "regular" release window, it would still be at least two months according to past releases. Now you should expect something between summer to and end of this year at best.

And also, many of the requests here are minor QoL, easily implemented. Bigger requests can be considered or ignored by the devs however they see fit. That is the purpose of this thread. Egosoft doesn't have its own subforum or thread for these things.

But I agree, that the title can be changed to include future patches, since that they confirmed at the same time, that 6.0 will not be the last patch.

During the remote maintenance of my ships it is not possible to see
if the main gun of the destroyers are fully functional

The surface elements are shown (white/red/away)
Only in Duty (at the controls of the ship) the main guns are displayed (white/orange/red)


I realize that on all ships the front guns have no def. display.
The S & M ships burst away completely only with the destroyer one notices it then.

As of now I have to send every single destroyer to dock/rep or ...teleport and take control
to see if there is a defect in the main gun.

...the Rep. drones always start to repair, when I am on board!
...plz make them under control like the other drones

I should also point out that some people's idea of what constitutes a "small" change is... shall we say, interesting. Redesigning the entire UI or reworking whole race fleets of ships, for example, are things that are certainly not going to happen for 6.00. Again, by all means discuss your wilder ideas for things you'd like to see in the more distant future of the X series, but if you are creating a specifically thread for requests for 6.00 then it would be more realistic to stick to proposing smaller changes. :)
There are 3 main things preventing X4 to step up to the next level of entertainment, which should be addressed right after all DLCs are complete and factions will be present in the game (in the distant future):
- Detach the diplomatic system from such long, static and complex plot paths, make it dynamic and based on demand and supply with some small lore exceptions.
- Redesign of the map interface (because it is simply confusing to have hexagons inside hexagons and all those lines around overlapping) and the universe (because X4 is lacking the best feature from the previous games: the pirate corridor and a bunch of empty sectors in the middle)
- Allow main factions for each race to creat sub-factions dinamically, and allow NPCs to own their own properties under their own logo, creating so, eventually, corporations.

All of those would be things for some future game. They are too fundamental to be reverse-engineered back into X4.

I only really want one thing, which I hope is minor, and that is to have the ability to comm allied faction ships and ask them to hold fire against ships I'm boarding.

I could always pen the code in COBOL or Fortran if it helps... :)

My request is 'relatively simple'. :wink: Have the personal office in the PHQ face away from the stupid asteroid and instead outward, preferably towards one of the build points. That way, I could build a dock or twenty and sit in my chair watching all my ships come and go, as well as all the NPC's coming to buy my wares. Right now, the office is mostly worthless since I can do everything in a ship that can be done in the office. I guess I could also watch my ships come and go in my ship, too, but it's not really the same. :(

Yeah, I'd go for that idea too. How come the uberboss of a pangalactic business empire runs it from a cubbyhole beside the broom cupboard?

I'd also like a microwave and a more comfortable chair. Maybe a chez lounge...

It'd definitely be my 'goto' place. :D
