Please allow player piloted ships to reserve trade orders

Post by Falcrack » Tue, 26. Mar 24, 01:47

It would be wonderful, especially for players who like to play space trucker, to be able to reserve trade orders for the ship we are personally piloting. Not just wares reservations for NPC piloted ships. Creating such a trade reservation would create a mission for the player to follow, with yellow guidance markers that indicate where to go, how much to sell, etc. It would essentially be giving orders to a player owned ship, which is currently not an option. The way it would work might be something like this:

1. Select the player owned ship, right click on the target station, select the "trade with" command, and select the amount (for example, buy 100 hull parts from station X).
2. A new mission would be created in the mission manager, with multiple parts, such as "fly to station X", and "buy 100 hull parts from station X"
3. When you land at the target station and select to trade with the station, there is a yellow highlighted trade reservation like we see for some missions to sell a certain amount of a certain ware to the station for the reserved price to complete the mission.
4. If the player gets up and an NPC takes over, the NPC automatically is assigned this mission as its order(s), and completes it as if it were a normal order for NPCs.

It would be good also if for an NPC ship that has existing orders, if the player sits down at the controls, a mission with guidance markers is generated that the player could follow, based on the existing set of orders for the ship.

I think something similar was discussed before the launch of X4, but it was never implemented. I think it would be really nice if Egosoft did implement it.
