Station messages

Station messages are only heard when you move away from a docked ship and player is on a dock (not moved to some module). If you are still on a docked ship messages are not triggered - makes no sense - I am on the station already, my ship is there, I am there - why I can't hear Betty's messages?
Edit 1:
I think 'mind the gap' message is ending too soon/it sounds cut too soon.
