[#65]Throttle glitch when using HOTAS in flight assist mode

[Z-Vise]

-Version 5.1 english
-no mods or scripts used
-Terran cadet gamestart but glitch appears with other game starts and ships as well
-I'm using a Saitek X52 pro HOTAS. Very frequently the throttle in game resets to zero if there is input from the joystick like yaw, pitch, roll, fire guns etc. I have to move the throttle to set the speed again but this glitch appears very frequently. This is very annoying and makes the game nearly unplayable. However this only happens in "flight assist" mode. If I turn flight assist off (CTRL+Space) or when I fly the space suit the glitch does not appear.
I removed all other input devices but the problem persists. The problem is only in X4. I play other space games and the glitch does not appear there.
-I bought X4 recently and cannot say if this is a new glitch or not.

You mean when flight assist is off I guess. Have you tried reloading the default profile for the X52 and see if that helps?

In general when flight assist is off, your ship will behave differently, especially when you turn it away from its current flight path, the speed information will be relative to that, not sure if that is your case.

I have tested with a T1600 HOTAS and was not able to reproduce. If you are sure there are no "ghost" inputs and this still persists maybe you could make a video to showcase the issue.

Nope, I mean when it is on. When it is off the glitch does not appear. Similar to the space suit which has no flight assist, the glitch does not appear.

That is good to know. The X52 is different to the X52 pro though. Although they look somewhat similar.
I tried different profiles and I don't think it's a driver issue because the glitch only appears in flight assist mode. I also unbound the throttle from the HOTAS yet the glitch still appears.

I installed various drivers, updated my BIOS, dis- and enabled xHCI and more. The problem persists.

However I found a workaround even if it is weird. I connected my old Logitech Rumblepad USB controller and the glitch has disappeared. The controller is not mapped to anything and I have not even selected it in the controller list, just my X52 pro.

I removed the rumblepad controller, restarted the game and the glitch re-appeared.

For testing, I suggest to attempt to play on a Linux-Distro which has 3D GPU support such as Ubuntu (does not matter if your save or new start). The HOTAS should be detected right away. If it works there, you can be sure that you should reinstall Windows. This way you can exclude hardware issues. Or, if this also happens, determine that there is some kind of hardware issue with your machine.
