Xenon Capital Ship ridiculous weapons :(

While conquering Atiya's Misfortune III, the Xenon send to attack a big, beautiful ship, that looked like a shark... It turned out to be a Xenon I, the most formidable of the Xenon ships... an M1 ship with which in the X3 series is heavily armed with 43 turrets:

But the ones I destroyed, ONLY HAD ABOUT 18-24 turrets, with a 4 Km range, those are for sure bolt repeaters... The guns in my Behemoths have a 10Km range, so you don't even have to get close to destroy this poorly designed ship :(

Every ship in X4 needs a total re-wright ESPECIALLY the models!!! and turret amounts. I Pray these are fake place holders for the real stuff

Yeah, Xenon capital ships sucks in X4.
In X Rebirth, K were very deadly, and were escorted by 20-30 fighters most of the time. It was very challenging to face them.

I do not understand why they change this. They are jokes.

Yeah you can fault rebirth for some things (amount varies per person) but capital ships was something it did perfect. The cap ships in X4 are underwhelming & tiny. I understand that these are effectively not the battleships & carriers of old (they are marked as destroyers after all) but even the Xenon I (whichs is marked as a battleship) and the K too are rather pathetic. Sure make the CoP ships smaller & weaker due to plot reasons, that's fine but the K & I which are both huge compared to any of the other capitals only carry comparable armaments. I have personally watched a single Paranid destroyer & escorts take out several Ks and their escorts due to how weak Xenon ships are, especially since they don't have missiles.

It's because X4 is a different game. They made the economy really dynamic now, but the problem is that this also broke it. In previous X games, when you start a game, Xenon and Kha'ak already had established economy, stations, fleets, etc. IN X4, as any other faction, Xenon and Kha'ak start from scratch as well. They have to mine, refine materials, build stations and ships, etc. But they don't do it efficiently enough. I am hundreds of hours into Vanilla now and I went to claim a xenon sector. Xenon destroyers, the K ones, are very weak. Your High setting destroyer can easily deal with a Xenon K. Ventures keep me in Vanilla, but I also have modded game set aside. So I am thinking to getting back to that, until they fix the Vanilla finally.

I respect your point of view, but I think the Xenon capitals are a real joke... and the Kak are just that, not even capitals! Even in Tharka's Cascade, with the shield issues and the swarms of Xenon fighters and Frigates, you take them out with no issue... The Xenon are a real threat to any species... but now, you can take a Xenon I with a single fighter! Just get in close from the top (no weapons mounts there), then with the gravity assist of the Xenon destroyer, you just slide around destroying everything, shields, weapon mounts, engines... Is ridiculous... Try that in X3... try getting close with a hundred heavy fighters to a Xenon I armed with flak batteries and see a massacre! This game comes from a great legacy, is not invented now! I, personally bought X4 because of my great experience with X3... with due respect to the devs and designers, that part of the game sucks now... there is no challenge! I placed 20 Behemoths in front of the gate to Tharka's Cascade, and even groups of 3 Ks, 2 Is, and 10s of fighters and frigates and they don't pass, not even a single one of the behemoths gets even damaged! in X3, a single Xenon I will destroy the 20 Behemoths if you use the X3 stats... And to be clear, I don't want to play X3 here, but please use some other names! If you went out of your way to design new ships, then change the names! A Xenon I, was probably the most feared ship in X3... Call it a Xenon New Age, Xenon W for "Watered Down"... I don't agree with the economy point of view, you could just wait or until 50 hours or so and start escalating the attacks... I have only encountered one Xenon feature that is truly Xenon, the drone defenses in their Docks and Shipyards, those can really clear a bunch of Behemoths and Carriers... I would like a more challenging threat from the Xenon and the Ka'hak...

Yup that would make sense. That's why I switched to modded game and started from scratch with mods that make AI more aggressive and balancing shields/weapons across the game, among quite a few others that 'fix' currently broken, not working features.

I think that all the factions have the same rules. I think that since the xenon and khaak are advanced they should need a lot less materials and time to build ships and stations. Simply put they are both advanced races the xenon are machines and the khaak are an advanced race. So if you decrease the resource need because the ships need less then both should grow much faster than they do.

If the Xenon ships would be much more effective and powerful they could possibly devastate other factions and maybe even bankrupt them and wipe them out with time. Since we have a more realistic economy now in X4 balancing things are more tricky.

This calls for an overall balancing of the factions. You can make ships more dangerous, when you limit the number of those ships at the same time.

This is what they should look for. If Xenons are too powerfull and take over some sectors, then the player have do deal with it. And, by the way, the player has to work to push back the Xenons in their home sectors.

This is challenging, this is fun and it could be a good plot!

A station (single factory, not a defence platform) just killed an I and a K. Station health 93%. I'm not sure those ships damaged the station. I didn't even see any shot from the Xenon ships. Does Xenon send unarmed ships from one of their last sectors? Unbelievable.

I don't feel the balance in the whole game. I can destroy Xenon stations with 1 Destroyer without getting damaged. I tried to destroy a PAR defence platform, and it killed my Raptor in about 10 seconds. I want fleet battles with hundreds of ships, and not massacres, because of the incompetent AI.

And unfortunately my game is an easy one, without any Xenon invasion. It is my first save, so I don't know if I just have no luck, or this is the game. But I think I will finish it soon. I will give it some time until my first terraformation is done, and then wipe out every faction, and start a new one, with hopefully more actions.

You should check out the Foundations of Conquest and War mod. You can set it up where the Xenon is much stronger. In fact, you can set up whatever faction to have more ships raiding parties or the like.

I think a lot has to do with the low resource problem which starves the xenon now.
Because of this I started to play with mods to increase astroid density and I must say. In my game there is xenon everywhere and doing a nice job.
Egosoft really has to rethink their astroid strategy.

i swear people are playing a different game than i am. Either that or they're not being honest about their game and the mods they are using. Xenon are very deadly in X4 and the Large Graviton weapons are easily best in the game. Melted an XL Aux ship in 5 seconds when it caught one right under it in front of my eyes. destroys stations and takes over more sectors than anyone if not tend to them quickly. its not fair that your saying they suck when your clearly either playing an established game with op fleets and also have experience which of course makes them alittle easier. doesn't mean is anything wrong with them. game is more than the Xenon. i got 1500 hours on Steam and i still am careful with them no matter what fleets i am with near them. ever notice the Intervention Corps get decimated over and over trying to get to Yaki Base? they are not easy!!! damn figjam post. sod off.

True. A swarm of Xenon M/S ... well, a swarm of any M/S (but not many factions have swarms) is deadly. That is where I use "fleet" -- a Carrier to haul my swarm to eat their swarm.

True, Gravitons hit hard when they hit. However, almost anything outranges them, even by safe margin. A shot that can't reach its target is not very good.

Sure, I "cheat"; I fly my ship and I don't send other ships in harm's way (except those fighters). Yes, Gravitons would hit AI pilots -- they occasionally hit my ship too. Not because they are good, but because I'm sloppy.

True. One player with one ship is the definition of "op fleet". I did get to that in about 150 ingame hours. I have now about 500 hours. I have more ships now, but don't use them much. The Xenon have not mounted a decent offense during the last 350 hours.

Yes, I've seen them decimated time and again, but never by Xenon. They don't get that far. Only to where I wait them ... :twisted:


Xenon have a known issue in low attention. Their I/K do not do as much damage OOS as their mighty Gravitons should be able to.
