Scrapyard Salvage mission and beyond

So how exactly do you transfer that ship you looted to the Teladi? When he comms me it keeps offering to transfer some random transport ship from one of my stations, so I just accepted it in the end and kept the JP Morgan Knife with the unique paintjob, hope it won't come to bite me in the ass.
But beyond that, when does the next mission start?

Edit: Okay, next mission starts when that transport you gave him reaches the target station. Now that I've sold those hull parts, though the mission completed once I've picked them up without needing to sell them, what's the next mission and when does it start?
Also apparently despite the trouble I went to give the Teladi his ship, he just abandons it in space at the end. It's almost dead now.
