The Tide and service crews.

So, I have only minimal experience dealing with Tide mechanics at the moment. I do know that there are a myriad of ways to train up service crews. But, it should work to park a large class ship in one of the Avarice sectors which takes light hull damage periodically from the Tides, giving the service crew something to repair, and thus skill up on, right?

Again, I know there are many ways to do this, but this should serve as yet one more method, correct? It has the advantage of being relatively low maintenance in use, if not very fast (I'm sure quicker ways exist). Just occasionally transfer skilled crew out, and low level crew in.
