Lasertürme bleiben im Anziehungsfeld der Asgard hängen; teilweise auch im Reisemodus.

I've noticed Laser Tower issues since i've upgraded my non-beta game to Beta 2. They are the following :

When the Xenon Capitals enter my Laser Tower Mk2 Protection Grids, the Laser towers magnetize themselves to the functional Xenon Capitals as they're flying through. They then get dragged and clump up a good distance from their initial placement location even sticking to the wrecks (moving / following) until they finally rest next to the wrecks.

My Holy Vision turrets have practically all disappeared at the Faulty Logic I entrance / exit.

The following 8 sectors are locations where I have my Laser Tower Mk2 Protection Grids : (asterix * will denote places i've had issues with traveling Laser Towers)

* Morning Star III - Heretic's End (moved to Heretic's End - Wretched Skies after the above issue)
* Ianamus Zura VII - Matrix #451
* Holy Vision - Faulty Logic I
* Hatikvah's Choice III - Tharka's Cascade XV
* Getsu Fune - Savage Spur II
* Frontier Edge - Atiya's Misfortune I
* Fires of Defeat - Matrix #9
* Family Tkr - Matrix #451

And this wouldn't be such a pita if there was a good way to mass pickup the turrets. I've not found a way to collect all selected deployables (and I've asked in discord, watched a lot of videos and done a fair amount of testing).

NOTE : I have a save where ALL my turrets in Frontier Edge are migrating towards a Xenon I. It's amazing to watch. Guess i should be happy they aren't tracking mines. lol It's a fairly long battle (3.5mins) ... so you may get some good data. Notice even the towers to the +z are migrating towards the Xenon I.

Let me know if there's anymore I can do to help this move along. I think I did the dropbox properly ...

UPDATE :

Fires of Defeat - Mk2 Laser Tower grid is in combat and is migrating towards the Xenon K. After it explodes the turrets keep migrating toward some unknown force ... not exactly towards the ship, but like they're being drawn to some invisible force on the same planes they are on but beyond the ship wreckage itself.

So, my fix is to now deploy more turrets in that location just to keep up the protection they provided and collect the turrets ONE AT A TIME ... (please create a MASS PICKUP for selected deployables)

This already exists for quite a while (should work for all deployables, tested sats, beacons and lasetowers) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHcY1FuSpCQ

As for the actual issue here, I have added it to the ones to look into.

UPDATE : 2-4-2023 : Unaware if you've been given the information yet, however, 248 Mk2 Laser Towers in Fires of Defeat have made a protective home surrounding FRF Agricultural Goods Factory near the Xenon Gate to Matrix #9. Included are pics and a save file to view the naughty FRF and my stolen / abducted / tractor beamed towers in an unusual place. Heck, if y'all wanted you could check all the gates I had at the time protected by towers. (Note : I had 2 Shih at each gate collecting loot. The ship list has them labeled and sorted appropriately.)

twitch streamer Malkano86 has multiple timestamps in his recent (6.2) Beta that shows the towers boxing his station. I'll provide a few timestamps, but it's meant to show you it's not just me. Nothing else.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1732634073 Timestamps : 00:04:40 / 00:11:45 - 00:12:24 / 05:37:50

Anyhow. This was only meant to be an update. I did want to share of another player having the same issue ... so you'd know it wasn't an isolated incident.

Again ... THANK YOU! Especially THANK YOU for sharing that collect deployables video. I've shared that a couple times to other streamers. :D

[6.0 Beta 3] Issues with deploying Laser Towers.

Post by ZeroAffex » Tue, 14. Feb 23, 06:23

Greetings gentle devs,

I've noticed since Beta 3, that deploying LT's on my ships has been a bit cumbersome to say the least. They tend to get bunched up really easily now, staying on top of the ship (or below) until you change course or until they hit a certain amount where they all spill out at once. It makes for some very messy deployments where before I could make some nice lines leading up to jump gates or around stations. Some of my favorite ships to deploy laser towers with are plain bad now due to the new changes with what I believe is the physics or adjustments to mass the laser towers. I'm not sure but I do know my go-to LT deployment ships like the Behemoth or Moreya went from deploying, nice uniform lines of laser towers to just blobs at a time as they collide with each other or ball up.

I'm hoping when time permits, you guys can make it so deploying LT's is 'cleaner' than it is now bringing it back in line with how it was in 5.X or very least closer to that. I get that not all ships deploy them as well as others due to where they come out like the Split's Cobra for instance but there's something wrong with their mass or speed in which they are deployed now and they are getting bunched up.

I also had a really bad issue with LT's sticking to my Behemoth today that I haven't had in a long time. The Behemoth is one of my favorites for MK2 as it has 4 docks but today they just kept clinging to the ship no matter what I did until I gave up. This was an old issue however but it seemed better with the initial launch of 6.0 Beta 1. In fact I thought it was completely fixed there for a while but something changed in Beta 3. It's super frustrating to hammer out ahead a time 50 MK2 towers only for every single one to stick to the ship forcing us to deactivate them after I wait for them to finish spitting out, suck them back in and try again. Fortunately, we can select big swathes of LT's and deactivate them/destroy them thanks to the amazing work you guys did with adding that new feature but this is not how I want to use that feature ahaha.

In short; deploying LT's with nearly every ship is a bit messy compared to before as they seem to have issues balling up as they are not leaving the ship unless drastic changes to course are made or so many accumulate, they burst out all at once leaving big messy blobs on the map. That and LT's in general are behaving worse across the board, getting stuck to ships and being affected by the Container Magnet (made a separate post about this).

Here's the same save from my other post (about Container Magnet's affecting deployed LT's) just in case. Never know! Of course, if there's anything else I can do for you, please let me know. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5efoa2uq8kfb1 ... ml.gz?dl=0

As always, I really appreciate all the hard work you and everyone else are doing for the X4 community and all the great changes you've been hard at work with in 6.0. Means so much to me and am excited to see what the future holds! (Hopefully lots more X4! ha!) Thanks so much for bringing so much joy to my life. Love you guys! Take care :D

PS: Am just going to sneak this in here to say since kinda on the topic that I'd be in heaven if we got a ship(s) in the future with the specialty of deploying LT's/Mines! It's one of my favorite things to do after a hard day. Like setting out bait traps for a crab boat or something. Very therapeutic :D I know I know. Please don't judge too harshly sneaking this in. <3 <3 <3 I can't help myself sometimes. Have a good rest of your week though!!!
