[#850][6.0 Beta 4] Fleet behavior in The Void

Post by VlReaderr » Mon, 6. Mar 23, 12:25

Two fleets.
Carrier defends position near jump gate.
Battleships and destroyers assigned to coordinate attack Xenon station.

Most of the fighters and some big ships files somewhere outside the reasonable operating area.
This happens from time to time approximately once in an hour.
Never seen such a behavior in other sectors.

Another situation in The Void.
Savegame: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15zLV0z ... share_link.
I've reloaded it some times to make sure the situation is reproducing.

Two fleets and a number of ships are assigned to attack Xenon Wharf build site.

1. I could not find this build site when I was in sector. Ships under AI control sometimes fire somewhere. So I decided to teleport out of the sector.
2. Rattlesnake QLG-391, as you can see in the savegame, is far north, but I was in that ship near the construction site. I teleported out, ship appears far north.
3. You can see a fighter (Balaur INH-286) on the screenshot going south instead of docking. In 2-3 minutes it will turn go the Aux ship.
4. In approximately 5 minutes carrier will fly away the construction site on maximum speed. More often to the north, but there were other directions too.
5. Capships are not even try to attack the site, hull remains 12% forever.
6. From one of attacking fighters situation looks like that: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15aZk5j ... share_link.

Can I do something specific to make the problem clear?

Is it possible that the fleet ships are avoiding hazardous areas in the Void as these hazards operate both IS and OOS? A quick temporary test (after saving the game as a return point) might be to switch off the 'avoid hazardous areas' option for warships and see if that makes any differences.

I've found the case, quick saved it, restarted the game, played 2-3 minutes.
Then quick saved it, restarted the game and played 2-3 minutes again.
So that savegame is third in a sequence. No difference.
And that construction site is far from hazardous area anyway.

Looks like there is a problem with wharf geometry. Fighters are definitely attacking something invisible.

Carrier subordinates were supposedly moving toward their commander when they were actually moving away.

Too late to determine why carrier subordinates were moving away from their commander. They recover and no longer do so after recovery.
